A letter written 105 years ago, one day before the Titanic disaster, was revealed by the victim who said, "If things go well, I will go to New York on Wednesday." The influential letter written by a wealthy first-class passenger was initially estimated at a staggering £ 80,000 but appears to be a record during the auction, which could fetch £ 119,000. BNPS Alexander Alexander Holferson, in his letter to his three-page mother, described the luxury vessel as "notorious". "This huge sized boat is equipped like a palacial hotel, the food is spicy and the music is excellent," the letter wrote on April 13, 1912. This is the only letter of its kind to mention the most famous and rich man among the passengers of the Titanic, John Jacob Astor, who was on par with Bill Gates in terms of the value of his fortune. BNPS BNPS Holferson, who was 42 at the time, spoke of how he was sitting on the deck with an American businessman who "looks like no one else, even though he has millions of dollars." The next day, a Titanic hit an iceberg and sank in three hours to 1522 passengers and crew. Although he was a first class passenger, Holverson perished in the disaster. His body was recovered later and his personal money was sent to his brother in Minnesota, the United States. Halverson's property also included the letter, which had been in his family's possession for years and is now sold at a public auction in Davis Bolets, by a third party.
