I used to think that love was an emotion, something that a person gives us in order to "make" us feel all warm inside. I used to believe that love was something I had to go after and chase, something external that would solve all of life's problems. I was so very wrong... after multiple failed relationships, seemingly endless suffering and heartache I started to realize what love truly is.
Love is LIFE!!! To truly be conscious is to be alive. The key to happiness in relationships is COMMUNICATION. I was so afraid to speak my heart for fear of rejection, getting hurt. How silly of me! How could I ever be hurt if what I am IS love? What I thought I was missing for so long was right in front of me, all I had to do was look in the mirror and remember...i missed myself more than anything. I missed that feeling you get when your a child, before your innocence gets tainted. The ultimate freedom of trusting life to unfold as the miracle that it is. Feeling every breath as being a gift, simply living in the moment...THAT is to know love!
What iv'e also come to learn is that the biggest problem we are facing on our planet stems from one thing...a lack of love! We as a species are starving for it, i look around me and see it everywhere. We have become masters at denying the very thing that would heal humanities wounds. Any excuse to not love enough. Instead we base our society around sex without love and pass it along to our children. Instead of MAKING love, we have sex without love and it spreads like a cancer.
The answer? love enough to die to your "self" so that you can love free of all labels. Be true to love. You see... I don't need to say " Oh I love this or that". Love doesn't have a name, it purely "is". I choose to love now, in this moment and it is enough. It has to be enough. If it is not, then I need to really look at myself and see what is holding me back from love and be really honest with myself. I need to be responsible for love, since nobody else can do it for me!

I absolutely loved this post! I honestly couldn't agree more! Love is what keeps us humans thriving. Without love, we would be nothing. Love is a choice, a commitment, not an emotion and thats so important to understand. I am grateful to have met my husband who loves me just as much as I love him.
