As you know, a part of my artworks is about the theme of the house/home, not just about the architecture or the building, but also thinking on how our home can give us different emotion. I pay always attention to everything remind me to this theme and so today I read the curious news about 3D printed houses that can be built in just 24 hours!
Sure, I live in Tuscany where there are beatiful houses built using terracotta bricks and I love so much this materials for houses. I love also rock houses or wooden houses, but that news intrigued me because I think it's a great way to have an house in few time with just few money, especially for people who are in issues. I read that now that 3D printed houses have a cost of about 10.000 $ for a 650 square foot (about 60 mq) house. Just to know, the apartment where my daughter lives is about 55 mq and there are 2 bedroom, a bathroom and a kitchen/living room, so it's not so little.
Icon (the company that build the 3D printed houses) is working on a beautiful project in partnership with the housing noprofit New Story to build 100 new houses in El Salvador during the next year.
If I well understood, even if some 3D printed buildings was build before, the news in this houses is that they'll use a universally building materials directly on the site.

I'm lucky to live in a small city (Pistoia) and here the houses are not expensive like in Florence, but, sure, with just 10.000 $ we can buy just a garage ^^

A good friend of mine is quite obsessed with these 3D printers. He's just signed up for Steemit so you may be hearing from him soon. His printer's don't reach so far as to print houses though, this is quite the extreme!
