BEGIN WITH SELF

Happiness is a personal choice. There may be too much injustice in life, too much complexity in love and too many challenges in learning, and still we can be at our best and be the happiest person in the planet. Challenges and difficulties are realities we cannot deny. We do not have to be afraid of them. No individuals can upset us unless we give them the permission to do so. The beauty of being human is the freedom and the intelligence that go with it. We can choose to think reasonably, respond calmly, act responsibly and live our lives fully. Every time we decide to choose happiness we make the decision to become more loving to ourselves and to every single person we meet the decision to become more loving to ourselves and to every single person we meet. Practicing unconditional love to others reinforces the same love within us.

Life is challenging. Life is unfair. Live anyway. Relationship is complicated. Love is mysteries. Love anyway. Growth is painful. Learning is difficult. Learn anyway. Life is too short to waste a single day without bringing joy to what we do and with the people we encounter. Every day is an opportunity for us to create greater harmony within us and our relationships. What motivates us to be the best of you we are and to give the best of what we have is happiness. Happiness is at the root of everything we do. It is more deeply felt in the service we render to others.

The person who refuses to cultivate happiness in his or her soul refuses to discover who he or she is. Your greatest discovery of self lies in your discovery of the answer to the questions, “What makes me truly happy?” Someone who lives his or her true self will make extraordinary contributions to someone else’s life. Therefore, the more you immerse yourself in loving service to the needy, the deeper you discover yourself.

Life is too precious for us to squander in anger and unwillingness to forgive. At any given moment life can expire. The moment we are given this life, we are old enough to die. When it comes to human life there is too much uncertainty. It is the only race here we could not determine how far we are from the finish line.

Life is short. We could go on living without noticing that we are nearing the end. That is how quick life can get. Our duty is to focus not only on how long we live but also on how well we live on this planet. Instead of simply adding more years to life, our intention should also be to add more life to our years.
