The gods have blessed me with many skills in varying degrees. However, one of the drawbacks of being blessed in this way is that I have extreme difficulty with executive functions. It's hard for me to do everyday things like wash my hair, make a phone call, or go to the store. It is my struggle. As such, things I commit to get pushed to the side because I am constantly trying to catch up with my lapses in executive functioning.
I've started bullet journalling, which helps, but when I'm so fallen behind that I don't have time to prep my journal for the week... you get the picture. It should be a mental image of a snowball rolling down a hill and accumulating more stuff as it goes.
It's unfortuante there isn't endless time in the day or that we don't have robots in our homes yet, reality is so unforgiving.
I will never "grow out" of being autistic, so these are struggles that I must learn to work around, otherwise I will never be a completely functioning human. I can't let my family down in this way, it's simply too heartbreaking to consider.
I've wanted to learn more about this platform and get to know the people here, but everything else has been distracting me. So, for the month of October I'm making a commitment to make one daily post on Steemit! I will attempt to keep the subject matter on homesteading, but I may or may not be able to do that. If anyone wants to follow along you can, though I'm doing this more to gain a grip on myself.
I hope you all have been doing wonderfully!
Love,
Jess!
