I had to deal with the situation when the pike bite ended with "nothing" more than once a dozen times. And now I'm not talking about tweaks and tying, but about strong, even fierce attacks. You cut it, but there's nothing on that end of the cord. Only torn bait and scary scratches on lead cargo. As the fish manages, taking all the bait in the jaws during the bite, I almost immediately get rid of it before I manage to respond by cutting, for me so far remains a question. Such bites sometimes happens and a few pieces for fishing. But the usual statistics (on average) - 10% of seemingly true bites do not end with the capture of fish.
I've watched a lot of underwater shooting of pike attacks on lures many times to understand what to do in order to avoid empty bites (for an example of such shootings see below). I have not figured it out yet ...

But the way is still there. Rather, there is a high probability of "catching" already pecking once, but not caught the predator. After all, the pike itself was left with nothing. Attacked the food, slammed it, as it should, but she did not die, but bodrenko so from her galloped away ... Adrenaline after such an unsuccessful hunt for a pike car, and she is often ready for a second attack. And here it is very important to give her a bait. The same, or, alternatively, another similar one. With a very high probability, if you gave the bait exactly to the zone of the last bite, a new attack will follow.
With "poultry theory" pike, I was once introduced to Konstantin Kuzmin during one of the joint fishing trips. And the knowledge of this nuance has repeatedly helped me in the future, repeatedly confirming the "caught" pike.
Once was a funny (for me) event. We were fishing from Batu on a flooded lake, firing a very promising dive from 2 to 7 meters with a jig. And now during the next posting I have an empty bite. At that time, my father finished the posting and was preparing to abandon it. "Throw it over there!" I pointed out the direction. He threw it, and from the middle of the wiring he received a pike blow and successfully caught a good pike. When we lifted the fish into the boat, he asked in surprise: "Did you see it through the water? I showed you very confidently where to throw it ..." And there were enough cases in my practice to confidently say that the pike is really catching after his miss. Now, when there are always two of us in the boat for catching the pike, and each of us has 2 charged spinning in the boat, Dimka and I practically catch caught fish in almost 90% of cases. Sometimes on the same bait, which was the first bite. Sometimes on a completely different type (pecked at the rubber - they caught on the wobblers, etc.). Important is one thing. You must fix the direction of each of your casts along the landmarks. Then, after a similar incident with an empty bite, you can repeat the casting to the right place with high accuracy ...
