Life Is Truly A Journey

I had spent many years in the background working with mainframe computers for 500 companies providing many of the services you use daily. Everything from swiping you card for gas or buying groceries, placing reservations for hotels, plane flights and car rentals.
Always in the background behind monitors, processors and hundreds of drives. Also did some television production once again being a camera operator also in air traffic as a radar controller all behind he scenes. As I tired of the corporate rat race I decided to strike out on my own to try Internet Marketing since I was still working with computers but now there was a distinct difference.

I now had to interact with a truly diverse global community from many backgrounds and experiences which has in many ways been a blessing. The people that I have met have been very helpful and supportive and I've learned and grown tremendously thanks to their help. I also discovered that in order to be successful I had to begin to express myself to the world as I entered the blogging world and also engaged with others in forums and webinar rooms.

During this time also I made some life changes moving from a large city to rural town which is it's own culture shock. Had to re-establish myself with the community and build new networks all of which was continuing to move me from my previous established comfort zone.

About 6 years ago I noticed the lack of publicity our local national treasure “Starfort “ which is in essence the Valley Forge of the south was receiving and began to explore was this could be remedied. Finally I decided to start doing some podcasts to help get the word out. This decision has really opened the floodgates to so many things and new life experiences.

Especially Ms. Belue- as I was doing research on the history of the town I came across a woman who at the time was in hr 90's and had lived in the town since a teenager. She is still sharp, quick witted and really fun to be around. So I asked her if she would like to be interviewed , she wasn't sure how this podcast thing would work but said she give it a try.

We started at the beginning as she told about the first airplane, how her husband had struck out Babe Ruth and so much more. She had such a rich history that we did I believe 8 interviews in all with the last being at her 100th birthday party . Since then I've done interviews with master gardeners, various types of artists and professors a wide number of community organizations providing much needed services.

Also helped promote anti bullying and suicide prevention campaigns and animal rescue to name a few. So it's been quite a ride up to now and looking forward to 2017. I like to thank the Steem community for it's support in advance and will do my best to be a valuable contributor. If you have a interest of learning more about the town or hearing the interviews mentioned you'll find them below

Hey Robert,
I’m not much of an online marketer or a community activist for that matter, but this post made a strong positive impression. Also, the “journey” metaphor always strikes a chord with me. I’ve posted an image that points to a different aspect of life's journey. Here’s hoping you and your readers enjoy it. Best regards for now and thanks for the good read. (Upvoted and followed.)

Hi Phillip,
Thanks for the read and your encouragement
;-) I also believe to truly make America great again we must all do our part. Voting and paying taxes are just a small part and I challenge every one to donate 1 hour to their favorite cause. i.e read to a child, help at the local spca or senior center or lend a hand o your neighbor.

Volunteering is rock solid. Helping others is a great way to feel good about yourself, too.
Good to to be in tough with you.
