I think food stamps or whatever you want to call these benefits are helpful but they need to have a more solid and straightforward amount given. I think they also should have certain rules that keeps people working as many hours as they can instead of getting this "free money" and just sitting at home popping out more children to increase their "free income"
Ive used it a few times but it is so hard to figure out how much you will recieve and the amount of hours you work doesnt help. I was offered less benefits even though i work 30 plus hours a week. I shouldnt get money taken from me because i work more than someone who has 3 kids and doesnt work at all.
