We are fractals of the consciousness of the cosmos, which some call god. Like fractals, we contain within us the same patterns of this greater consciousness of which we are a part, and together our individual consciousnesses create the substance of this greater consciousness. As we grow, so does this greater consciousness.
The universe is a seed, an egg laid by beings that inhabit dimensions beyond ours. Like a seed or egg, which are mostly just information on how to grow a plant or bird, our cosmic egg contains within it a self replicating pattern that, if left unchecked, will eventually grow a coalescing and enlarging consciousness that will be able to take part in this larger reality.
We all have a choice. We can participate in this process and help it along by maximizing our own individual potential while maintaining harmonious relationships with our universe, or we can become cancer, and seek our own temporary pleasure without regard for whatever larger picture we are a part of.
If we choose the latter, then we will be regretful when our consciousness rejoins the larger pool of consciousness that we are from, because cheating others is like shooting off your own toes.
