Having followed so much DIY posts online and life hacks, I have discovered that these hacks only apply to inanimate objects around us. This is not to say these hacks are not powerful or useful towards human behavior, let's say how to get silver from baking soda or easy meal planning or hacks for cleaning stubborn stains.
All these are profitable hacks but then if we have all these hacks and still can't afford a goodnight sleep because of that cute heavenly blessing - your cute adorable baby - that also cannot sleep all through the night, the learnt life hacks are not good enough. I mean, why should your bundle of joy -
- cause you so much troubles at night??
The Problem
Parents and caregivers do not help these little ones form sleep habits early enough and this is usually because they are ignorant to the fact that sleeping habits of these little ones can be cultivated. This leads to unhappy parenting and insomnia in infants.
The Effects
In no particular order, the effects of infants having insufficient sleep include but not limited to:
Post partum depression
This is usually a big concern as the parent, especially the mom can't seem to figure why the child cannot sleep and then begins to wonder if she could cntinue like this. This in turn affects her relationship with friends and family, her spirituality, mental and physical well being too.
Life productivity
Parents tend to be late for every activity because they could not get enough rest at night. They begin to get threats at the office, they begin to loose friendships too.. Total productivity is affected.
This is not to talk about the dangers of employing nannies or baby sitters, or leaving the kids in care of neighbour.
This problem is quite hard for parents as can be seen by the data from google on searches related to baby sleep world over from 1 to 10 million searches monthly
and in the US alone 100k to 1M searches
the solution is building good sleep habits for the infants and studying how to correct already formed habits. This will be elaborated in forthcoming posts. stay tuned to this post.
