Thank you getting behind the first post in this series - It’s Time to Build a Society that Benefits Everyone - Not Just the Privileged Few!

The Steemit community once again stepped up to the plate.

Why Poverty?

How long is a piece of string?

This list is far from conclusive.

I am only going to focus on the core issues for now because all of other issues lead back to these core issues. Let's not beat around the bush!

  • Central Banks Control Money Creation & Supply
  • Foundations, Billionaires and Secret Societies Use this Money to Control Corporations
  • Corporations Control Governments/Nations & Politicians
  • Politicians Pass Legislation that the Central Bankers Want Passed
  • Governments Control the People

Understandning These 5 Points is 1st Base!

To be honest - it goes much deeper than this but let's save that for another day!
I intend to delve deeper into the reasons behind economic inequality and poverty in future posts, as well as offering solutions. I still have quite a bit of research to do on this topic - so please share what you know with me (and everyone else) in the comments section below and let's work together and try to fix this mess.
I re-iterate, and promise you, that all SBD raised from this series will go towards helping the less fortunate and that I will post my donation and share it with you after I have made it. Upvote and share with confidence - I stake my reputation on it!

Love, Peace & Truth

I read articles where they say that people like warren buffet and other billionairs that they donate millions of $ to poor countries. But how come we don't see any change? No development and there is still poverty? What happened to alll the money donated? I heard warren buffet donated 90% of his money? I am really curious.....

Buffet donates $2 Billion a year to the B&M Gates Foundation and while that sounds like a lot it isn't, comparatively speaking and with capital growth factored in.

Gates & Buffet are both still listed in the Top 3 wealthiest men alive according to most estimates yet the media tells us that they are great philanthropists?

Gates and Buffet are following in the footsteps of John D Rockefeller who was hated by most people, for most of his life. Towards the end of his life he wanted to change his public persona so he hired the pioneer of propaganda and public relations (Edward Bernays) to create a public relations campaign to sway public opinion - and they were of course successful. The name of the game that they play is called
perception management'.

As they say - the rest is HIS STORY!

Actually, there are statistics how global poverty has been reducing, infant mortality is reducing, literacy rates are going up in poor countries. We are already going for better, all the time, but we can't see it as we are not there and we haven't seen the past either.

The biggest problem with Gates and Buffet is that they continually ask for higher taxes and more government spending. Yet, they do their best to hide their own money and control where and how it is spent. If they truly believed that government was the answer, they wouldn't have their charities, they could give their money straight to the government.

But, of course, Buffet's company is in the business of helping people avoid taxes.

Poverty is the manifestation of humanity's ongoing animal nature. At base we are still apes scrounging the forest floor for our share. The day we evolve past that is the day poverty disappears.

@dber The more I think about your comment, the more I tend to agree with it. When given the choice, most people choose what's good for one (him or herself) over what's good for everyone collectively.

I feel badly - I don't mean to reinforce cynicism -but i do feel that way, on the whole, about masses of people.

Having said that individuals do surprise and are capable of being extraordinarily kind

It's hard not to feel cynical when that's mostly what you see people doing.

Yes, there are exceptions, but they're just that - exceptions.

I do feel confident there is a slow awakening happening, however.

There is poverty where the conditions to success (rule of law, strong civil society, etc.) do not exist and where governments stifle the division of labor. Socialism is one of the main drivers in destroying conditions to success and the division of labor. Socialism is the greatest threat to world peace and to prosperity. Socialism Kills, as Matt Kibbe puts it.

It´s good to see that this community is aware of the real problems of the world.
Keep on going!

Thanks for the encouragement! I will keep going.

Thank you, we need more people like you in the world, you have my upvote

Thank you @diverse-thinker. I'm reading all of your posts and I particularly want to post your 10o words. It was very poignant and I loved it!

thanks please resteem it so i get encouraged :)

Right on. If I hear one more person say..."We're running out of food!" I'm going to shoot an arrow from Daryl Dixon's crossbow through their zombi-fied mush brain. It's all about control. There are plenty of resources...but not the way it's currently set up. Great job!

Spot on - at least 50% of the worlds food ends up as waste. They know how to fix the problem but they don't want to.

Great Post! While I'm certain poverty exists, the global community is unable to agree upon a common definition. Currently we deal with arbitrary currency measurements like $1 a day. Alternatively, poverty is often conflated with separate but related issues like nutrition, education, medicine, and bigotry. The fact currently remains that the quality of life enjoyed by the 99% gets better as the 1% gets richer. Solving the issue of nutrition; that's a question that should be considered long before addressing poverty. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this important topic.

I'm not sure that I agree that the lives of 99% improves while 1% get richer but in saying that - I think that I understand where you're coming from eg. living longer, shelter, water etc.

This stat from my last post jumps out at me:

The incomes of the poorest 10% of the worlds population increased by less than $3 a year between 1988 and 2011 (or $69 a year in 23 years), while the incomes of the richest 1% increased 182 times as much.

Such a sad state of affairs this world has become when so few have so much. It's believed that between 147 corporations control 40% of the global economy and further postulated that as few as 4 companies control the 147. Further it's concluded that between 737 corporations control 80% of the worlds profits. Linked below is the article with these stats.

Plenty of reasons the world has poverty. The interlocked power structure at the top doesn't like to share.

https://bootheglobalperspectives.com/article/1373929623WBG353475497/145-companies-may-control-40-of-worlds-assets

Yep, I saw this study a number of years ago and while I intended to blog about it I haven't as of yet, but maybe someone else will?

I believe that it confirms what we already know - that a select (and hidden group of men) control almost everything.

Thank you for posting this in the comments. You have added value and that is important. Others will read it and run with it.

Thank you for the kind words. I think I will have a go at it later today. Good idea to make it into a full post.

Yes, it is a great idea to share this knowledge. Few people know this and it's important that they do.

This topic is very important. I'm now following you!

I had followed you earlier. I'll let you know when I post. (assuming I deem it any good). I'm currently in research mode.

My pleasure. Thank you for reading it!

The system was designed that way..but that is coming to an end. ;) There is a better way but humanity must realize it and embrace it.

Great post!!!!!!!!!!!!

Because human's are greedy

Concise and I like it, thank you. However, not all humans are as greedy as these psychopaths IMHO.

Poverty exists because Capitalism is the driving force in society today.
It's a plague that causes people to lose their humanity and no longer value the life of not just animals or the earth, but even their fellow humans.

When property and profit come before a life I honestly cannot value your life.

While you may not want to call it or blame it on capitalism and rather corporates, they're the end result of capitalism every single time. Crony Capitalism is not crony at all. That, this, is just late-stage capitalism.

i thought that I did call it? But granted I did keep it concise.

You did call it, but you didn't say the spooky word, blaming it on capitalism.
I don't blame you, especially with the amount of self-identifying "anarcho"-capitalists, which get extremely defensive in my experience to criticisms of capitalism.

By the way, be careful what charity you donate too. Try to find a local one in the area online or even locals to donate it to ideally.
Big charities typically throw their $$$ into companies the owner/head of the charity knows or has investments in, even if it costs multiple times more to do the same task.

Fair call. We both know what's going on it seems.

I'll be very careful with who I donate to and thanks for the reminder. I know that most of it is lost in 'expenses'. Check out my last post as I specifically mentioned it.

We have some kind of capitalism in the world today and the poverty is going down and people in the poor countries are doing much better than they did 50 years ago. Thank you capitalism for making the world a better place.

This is not a very new article, as it's from 2013, but it has some nice info.
https://www.theguardian.com/society/2013/mar/17/aid-trade-reduce-acute-poverty

Poverty is reducing quickly and we should do our best to keep it up instead of only complaining how everything is going to worse.

Poverty is the result of hydrolic despotism - state monopoly on necessary resource as a means of control. In our modern societies, rather than resources, our masters control the symbol of resource - money. On the most basic level, resources and money are different forms of information, so at the basis of poverty is our masters' attempt at censorship.

thank your for the question on the poverty. The issue of poverty is very complex. You see, around the world, one can easily locate areas or famine is rife for example. In these areas, food can be sent to those who live there and who die of hunger. But I think that today, the most important thing to do if the world wants to help the poor is to do everything possible to end the wars. Conflicts are largely at the root of poverty in the world. The remaining issues may be considered subsequently.
