Isn't it sad that I am trying to find some (or something) to blame instead of taking personal responsibility for my own actions?
I have never been a morning person, and I have allowed that mentality to deeply impact the start of my day (and my entire life if I am completely honest).
I want to change:
1. In order to wake up earlier, I am making a commitment to go to bed earlier.
11PM is the target. I will not be legalistic about this, but I definitely have a goal that I want to guide me.
2. I want to have better sleep.
I will try (and it will be hard) to reduce screen time before I go to bed. I will also try to limit the amount of food I eat before going to bed, and make better choices about what I eat.
3. I need to wake up earlier.
I almost hate saying that out loud. But I need to accomplish more in the morning before my children wake up and the day begins.
4. I will dedicate time each morning to prayer and devotional materials.
My faith is important to me. I want to live it out in my daily life, so I have to make it a part of my daily life.
5. I will shower immediately after I finish my devotional time.
Even though I desire to work at home, I will start my day thinking like a business man so that I can accomplish my goals. I have the freedom to lounge around all day, but I choose to think differently.
6. I will do the hard things first.
I find myself running towards easy tasks. It is easier to check off an easy task. I will engage the difficult tasks that will impact my business goals and make positive change in my life.
Thanks for listening. I need the whole world to hear this. I need accountability.
Let me know how I can be holding you accountable in the comments section.

@nzfxtrader, I don't mind quiet morning people. It is noisy morning people that bother me :)
One of my kiddos wakes up and the morning in chatter box mode - constantly talking. Fathers need to love their morning kiddos.

My husband is a night owl but has changed his ways, he is now taking walks with me at 7am, this took 15 years though ;-/ hahaha
Changing little habits first will help change the bigger habits. When you go to bed early and can't fall asleep you can meditate or pray until you sleep.

@reddust, thanks for the comment! Old habit die hard, but I am trying to make changes so that I can live a better life.
I am a praying person, but sometimes there is a battle between my prayers and my mind running through the events of the day (or the day to come). I know I can win that battle as I fight for better sleep.
