There's a lot of various feelings of belief and disbelief towards the whole concept of new year. While some believe it to be a clean slate and often look forward to it with high levels of optimism, others believe it to be a festivity and hence carry out certain rituals of cleansing on that day to prepare them for the new period of 365 days believed to be 'a year' in present day standards based on the Gregorian calendar adopted by most countries from years ago.
This post is not aimed at educating y'all readers on certain things we already know but to help break certain concepts that have been built in the human mind as generations come and go and us as a species continue to evolve.
I am sure as at now we are all still very confused as to where i am going with this post and i like that and humbly ask that you "stay with me" in Sam Smiths' voice.
So its 2018 now and how many of you said some shii like "2018 is gonna be lit" or some other shii like "next year is gonna be big" or here's a good one "next year i will not catching feelings" or some typpa crazy stuff y'all always tell yourself to make it seem like you are making plans for your future.
(pardon my use of some words that don't exist, it's how i talk you'd get used to it lol).
Everything in this world we have come to know is governed by one essence called 'time'. Personally i choose to believe that the birth of the universe was instituted by the creation of time by God. What i mean by this is God created time and time gave birth to events such as the creation of the heavens and heavenly bodies as well as the universe and all its planets as stated in the bible.
Humans in their bit to keep track of events conceptualized the idea of telling time through dates. So what if i told you you weren't actually in your mid-twenties, say 26, as what was reflected in your birth certificate but are still in your mid-twenties judging from how much time you have spent roaming the earth?
By now i believe i am gradually opening your eyes to the picture i am trying to paint.
Let me not elaborate too much hence this becomes too lengthy. The point is it is good that we project plans for the new year and the future in general, but this human behavior encourages laziness and procrastination. Why? this is because the concept of keeping dates only helps us remember events and does not mark the beginning of new ones. So why tell yourself you will have money in '2019'? its just a period in your life and depends a whole lot on how you spend your '2018'. Your tomorrow carries the aftermath of the effects of activities carried out today. Animals don't keep or follow any form of calendar and go around each day quite well. The truth is January is only January because we programed this to be. The concept of time is endless but us humans try to make it seem like it follows a system of arrangement.
So after all said my question is: Is the New year really what all the hype or is it a continuation of the order 365 days making it 366? I well will leave that for you to figure out.
Stay sharp and focused.
Much love from this side.
Happy New Year by the way lol.
