Remeber when I bought a one-way-ticket and moved from Norway to Australia with no plans?
I had never been there and I didn’t know a single person there, but I needed an adventure.
After being back in Norway for one year, I’ve been playing with the though of doing six months somewhere else and do something completely different.
I need your help! I need some inspiration. And I want to hear what you guys dream of doing.
I kind of want to check in to a retreat in Thailand and just do yoga and chill. But on the other hand I want to do work as a volunteer somewhere.
And don’t get me wrong. I love my life here in Norway, but I still get restless and I still feel like I have some exploring to do before I settle down.
What would you do if you could do anything and go anywhere for six months?

I have been planing a 12 months trip for a while now but, it is fare from something I think you will do.
I am planing to stay out in the wild in a tent in the northern regions of Scandinavia for a whole year just to get the experience of the change in the seasons and weather.
This project will also be dedicated to taking photos and writing.
It is still some planing to do so, this is not going to happen for another couple of years. But, you gave me an ide to write about the planning here at Steemit.
Hope you find your ultimate trip, regardless if it is Yoga, volunteer work or just getting some @Susanne time.
Shall be interesting to see where you go, guess it will come some good post from you about it :)

Jeg ville dratt til Canada, startet i vancouver, for så å ta turen opp til alaska,

Det er helt fantastisk der borte, har vert i Canada 2 ganger å besøkt min morfar, vi kom oss ikke helt opp til alaska da, men var innom yukon og vasket noe gull.
klimaet er som her i norge bare bedre, de har heftigere vintre og mer stabile og varmere sommre enn vi har her til lands.
vi får tjene oss opp endel steem/sbd så vi kan alle reise sammen :D

The world is full of beautiful places & all you need is your positive outlook and adventurous spirit. You could fly to the moon, see the stars & a couple of planets? But, if you want to keep your feet on the ground, per se, I would invite you to explore what fascinated you as a child and where you dreamed of going....
I am originally from Toronto, Canada, and have moved to Athens, Greece. I love it here --- but, that's just me.... and if I could I would love to travel the world!

When I was 14, my cousin and I dreamed of backpacking across Europe for a year after high school. We went so far as to design travel routes, which at the time, had to skirt around the Soviet Block in eastern Europe. (How times have changed!)
Now, in my early 50's, I am making my very first trip oversea. In just eight days I'll be touching down in Paris to start a week in Paris and Athens with my youngest daughter who is living her adventure in France.
If I could take six months, I would execute my original plan. I would travel all over Europe; taking pictures, meeting people, understanding how they live, what they dream of, and what their daily lives look like.
For now, I have a week and just two cities, but it's a start!
Have you been to South America? I am thinking of visiting Argentina and Chile next year, solo. I'd also love to visit Cuba...

I personally would pick New Zealand or the Bora Bora. haha but that would probably get expensive. I live in the US, Arizona. So when it gets hot, it would be nice to escape the heat and live somewhere until November. haha. Maybe a mountain ranch in Montana or Colorado. Or a beach house in Florida. I could live in Hawaii for 6 months, that would be awesome. I wouldn't mind living in Europe for 6 months and visit all the places where I my ancestors came from. I would definitely go to Scandinavia, since I have lots of family from Norway and Sweden. So many choices! Good luck finding another place to visit!

Skulle eg reist bor frå Norge for ein så lang periode ville eg gjerne reist ein tur på den sørlege halvkula i løpet av vinterhalvåret. Gjerne New-Zealand, Australia eller i Sør-Amerika. Men eg har ikkje planar om å realisere ein slik tur enno. Derimot skal eg til sommaren reisa til Island og vera der ei veke. Det er ein tur eg ser fram til. Men i påska skal eg reisa til Andøya. Der er det meldt om fin skreifangst og eg gler meg til å få eta mange gode middager av denne delikatessen i løpet av opphaldet mitt der.
I dag har eg lagt ut nokre bilete frå Nordmela. Bilete som viser lange kvelder, snødekte toppar og skrei som heng på fiskehjell.

We are going to do the same with my girlfriend! Decided that about a year ago and have been trying to save some money and I'm also finishing school.
Our plan is to go to Italy and work there as a volunteer at first and then head to Asia for the winter, probably to Thailand first (we were there this winter as well) and to Indonesia after we've had enough of Thai. :)
I recommend Asia cause it's so cheap to live there so you can stay there a while without worrying about working. And ofc the food is AMAZING and the temperatures high! We like! :)

5 or 6 weeks ago, after selling everything we owned, we started a road trip through Mexico. We're visiting a bunch of different cities along the way and will settle down for a while when we find a place we love. We're loving it so far! Consider Mexico :)

Gwangwon-do in Korea. The province has beautiful mountains, beaches and temples for relaxing stay. I'd just do nothing but sleeping, trekking, walking and sort of meditation ^^

Jeg digger eventyrlysten din og synes det er så bra at du følger den! Det er nok mange som har lyst, men som ikke våger. Hvis jeg skulle dratt et sted i et halvt år, ville jeg reist et sted hvor jeg kunne lært noe eller bidratt med noe samtidig slik at det var et ekstra formål for turen. Det er jo akkurat det du er inne på :). Tror nok jeg ville valgt Alpene, har bodd der før og blir nok aldri mett på det, stått på ski, jobbet på skiskole og lært f.eks isklatring, brevandring mm.

Whenever I felt the adventurous sting in my stomach, I followed 4 basic rules. go somewhere where you like the culture, food, climate & and the last one:go before it’s too late . Follow Those 4 basic rules you should reduce the chances of having bad experiences, and the country of your choice will make you happy.
1: its always nice to sit down and enjoy a nice meal to comfort you.
2: it’s always nice to have a climate that restores you energy quickly
3: it’s always nice to know that the culture is not alien enough for you to be able to adapt in situations.
4: go before it’s to late. You’re not getting younger, and soon your not even alone anymore.

Hello @susanne, it's funny that you ask. I have the exact same thought as your right now at the moment :)
Starting May I would like to start to travel. And I really do not have any idea. First idea was to go in Thailand too. I love Bangkok. And why not, the islands in the south :)
Or maybe, I will just go in south of France.
Because in my case, I juste want to be in a calm, quiet and warm place where I can just relax and empty my mind. I also want to eat well and do not think of anything (like cooking or cleaning). So, I need a cheap place (so I exclude Norway from my list ;-)).
What type of experience are you looking for ? And what's the budget ?
Do you want cold (I doubt you want more, if you live in Norway ;-)) or do you want warm ? Do you want mountains or do you want sea ? Do you want to be alone or do you want to meet a lot of people ? Do you want to travel or do you want to chill at the same place ?
