Hippocrates Personality Quartet As a Communication Tool

in life •  2 years ago

Taking the time to understand the Four Humours is an excellent communication tool. The theory of the Four Humours was devised by Hippocrates, who was a Greek physician in the ancient period. He believed that human beings are made up of both the physical and spiritual elements. He viewed the body as a whole, rather than a series of organs, and suggested that illness resulted from an imbalance in bodily fluids. He also recommended rest, good nutrition, and a general diagnosis.

The theory of the four humours was not a realistic medical practice, but it did remain a valuable tool in personality design. The four humours, or "humors", were water, bile, blood, and phlegm. While Hippocrates believed that each of these fluids had a specific function, he did not describe a fixed relationship between them and human personality.
