Why is it Important to Slow Down and Find Stillness in a Busy World

Looking at nature, we can observe that plants, animals, and other species all know how to take a break when they're tired. Seasonal and weather changes cause them to retreat a little in their cycles, but they soon reappear stronger and more vibrant as their lives continue. Plants lose their leaves, and animals go into hibernation as a result of the cold weather. Nature's living creatures are in a state of rest dictated by their own nature, which is maintained by their own order. When it comes to disconnecting from our daily lives, how successful are we as humans? How much time can we devote to listening to the messages coming from our own bodies when our telephones and laptops sound alarms asking that we "charge me now" immediately?

Rest is essential for our mental health, as well as our physical and mental well-being, to function properly. If you get enough sleep each night, rest during the day, and take small breaks throughout your day, you will be more productive at work or in your daily life.

The act of pausing is considered as a waste of time by many individuals. A large number of people in today's fast-paced world attempt to multitask, keep a few bites in their mouth for the sake of eating, spend the entire day in front of the computer and then switch it off in the evening, pick up the phone in the evening, all while rushing to complete their work under extreme stress. What does this style of living have to do with the nature of humans, exactly? As long as we do not allow ourselves to rest, the modern man will be tortured by a state of constant tiredness, unhappiness, and dissatisfaction.

Even though we are told that we must constantly go forward, progress, and consume at a rapid pace, we should ask ourselves, "What am I seeking to accomplish by doing this?" Should one pay now in order to make a future investment and have a good life in the present? Is there no possibility of feeling guilt when we look back on our lives from the future? “Was it really necessary for me to run as much as I did?” I wondered. It was a long time ago, but was it really worth it to go so long without taking care of myself, without breathing? I'm confident that no one will inquire.

The ability to stop for a moment and reflect on ourselves, our environment, and what we do helps us to experience what we call the "value of the present." This pandemic has actually caused the entire world to take a moment to think on its current state of affairs.

Because it encourages people to take a breath and stop for a moment in the middle of their hectic lives, meditation research has become increasingly important in recent years. 'Every day, you must sit alone for 20 minutes,' according to a saying that I enjoyed hearing. If you're really pushed for time, take an hour to sit and think. Among all of our possessions, our health is the most priceless. Keep in mind to take care of yourself and get enough rest for your physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.
