Two students in A and B will go to the bookstore to buy books.

甲说：“向上走，比下一站早上车，意味着少一些竞争，找到座位的可能性要大得多。”
乙说：“向下走，与车辆同向，等到车的机会比向上多，边走边等，多好。”
甲说：“我宁可少一些上车的机会，也要找个座位享受一番，站着多难受！”
乙说：“年轻人，累点算啥！每向下走一步，就离目的地近一点，实在没有班车，我可以步行到书店。”
甲说：“怎么可能没车？”
乙说：“怎么不可能？”
两人争执不休，谁也说服不了谁，决定各走各的。一会儿，车来了，乙登上车，车上果然没有座位了，而甲正跷着二郎腿，用嘲讽的眼光看着乙……
毕业后，甲挖空心思，留在了城里，钻进一个各方面条件很好的企业；乙则回到了自己生长的地方，在一家小企业里做职工。
几年后，甲乙二人在一个订货会上相遇了，甲虽然还是个普通职员，但西装革履、手机皮包。乙虽然是个副厂长，但衣衫寒酸、土包穷样。甲拍拍乙的肩膀说：“向上走，舒服一点；向下走，就得艰苦一点喽！”
又过了几年，很多企业实行改制。无突出贡献和技能的甲被裁减出门，成绩突出和能力超群的乙被公推为总经理。甲从报上看到一家公司的招聘简章，登门求职遇到了乙。了解了情况后，乙拉着甲的手说：“有时候会没有班车的。”
人生的道路上，对目标的追求必须要高，但实现目标的心态必须要低。
