good morning my fellow steemians.. .
Do you hack your fav foods?
Sure, those cheap noodles are super bad for you but if you put in spinach and fibre rich beans can you hack your noodle soup — not really, but it certainly makes you feel like ya heading in the right direction and it was a lovely hot bowl of evening soup - @dayleeo is a pure nonna (Italian for grandma?) when it comes to getting behind a pan.
have you every wondered why you make the decisions you do? Why your brain decides that’s the right step forward? Take this situation for instance, the tubes in the light in the bathroom area got broken, damaged, stopped working and needed replacing.
after an initial search for the tube type, name etc I realised that even thou it was low power and 12v that it was actually buying a product that’s really at it’s end of life, I’d be not making it more efficient, in fact I’d just be putting back the same functionality and also was at one point difficult for my daughter to reach up too (although that point is now mute)
I replaced it with a magnetic stripped led light that has motion sensing and can be charged with micro usb very easily, it works as expected, you walk into the bathroom the light comes on automatically for ten seconds. I don’t have to flick a switch, it does what I need it to do for the time I’m there
. .I paid the £20 instead of maybe £10 because (and I kinda use this thinking with everything I do on a computer too)
- why replace when you can upgrade to make the experience better
- it’s micro usb chargeable, I have tons of cables
- I have power packs where I can charge this light
- it came with two magnetic strips so you can put in two places
- it’s fully mobile, I can use in an emergency
- no longer have to turn the light on, reminds me to be efficient
- if I wanted to I could make this completely solar powered
Process man, I’m obsessed with process — I’m not even sure where it came from, why my brain thinks this way, maybe it’s all the years of LOGIC and PROCESS I had in my early twenties when I worked for the local council, that was all step based, linear, step by step, run this, wait for that, change the mag tape, check files, edit lines, load a backup cartridge.
And the thing is it never left me, everything then had to be an improvement, in some way a little bit more different the day before, using it as a barometer of progress even, just subtle changes, reminders, bit like when I travel on a bus looking out of a window looking at the changing landscape, a reminder of the ageing process and memories of moments appearing from reflections of people faces in the windows.
I’ve already had two cups of coffee today and I already know that today is gonna be mostly spent between BEAR and BROWSER TABS — I’ll certainly get the video recording in for the next video but instead of taking time out to do that I’m gonna write out the next five posts so I’m in a situation of just having to record the videos, that way when I come to post I’ve already got the thumbnail and post and I simply need to drop the video on the site and copy and paste — boy, I love process.
What’s the thing in your life that gives you a purpose, kinda formats you mental hard drive everyday when you wake up, what do you do regular that gives you a sense of purpose and your own proof of brain enough that you ignore that this world could actually just be a simulation? :)
Lots of love,
T E A M H U M B L E x
It depends on the season, so seasons are probably the first purpose. Now, it's chickens and quail, rising nowing they are waiting for me to give them their food and pets and take their delicious bounty (the roos let me know in the morning with their calls). Also, plants. This time of year the first thing I do is go to the window sills and peek in all my pots/planters.
What grew overnight?
What added another leaf?
Oh, is that a new one popping through the soil?
And regardless of season, art. I often wake up thinking in drawings.
Enjoy your ramen :)

My music is what works my brain. I'm always trying to learn something new. I also play around with technology when I can. Oh, and I try to do some cryptic crosswords. That's a good mental workout. Got to keep the brain working

Yes nonna is italian for grandma, and you're right- every time i've lost or broken something I take it as as opportunity to hard fork my process and see if I can improve instead of just mindlessly replacing
Smart mouse is smart, and I'm glad you like my cookingzzz <3
