Another car eaten by flood water

in life •  7 years ago  (edited)

In my hometown in Muncie, Indiana when ever it rains the Unity Bridge Underpass floods. And there is always some dummy who thinks his car will make it. Approximately 7 cars a year gets stuck and destroyed in floodwaters under this bridge.

Everyone who lives here knows they should go around this bridge and detour but you can't fix stupid.

Seriously though I don't have a picture of it that I took, but there was 2 or 3 last week that was eaten by the flood water.
This is the Vehicle that got stuck underneath the Unity Bridge Underpass today.

The water shorted out the horn and it was going off like someone was laying on it for help, but they were already out of the vehicle.

The moral of this story, is don't be a dummy, don't drive into flood water, drive around it and detour.

Some trails are best left un-blazed

specially flooded ones. Seriously every time it rains since before I was born it had flood. You would think people would learn but they don't.

Update The above Car was removed, but a friend just posted this photo she just took of someone that drove around the barricades thinking they could make it. Some will never learn. If you look closely you can see the new car is faced the other direction.

In that vehicle, he could've made it, chickened out and took his foot off the gas. At least they didn't try it in a river.

so many people think that and everyone who has tried gets stuck, it is deeper than what it looks, and by the time we got there the water had receded a little

Haha there a bridge near me that's the same, some fool always tries it. Some people just don't a have any common sense!

I don't know if you saw my comment but a friend posted another car that drove into the water about 2 hours later. Can't fix stupid lol

Nope unfortunately not
