Hanging out with Ladyvinci

Today I spent the day hanging out with @ladyvinci and today I have proof that we hung out. As I did take some photos while we were out today. After I picked her up we went to go check out the Island, sadly I thought they were open all day on Saturdays and they are not, they don't open till 5 so we had to make other plans.

The island is a cool little place off a trail called the Cardinal Greenway.

I wanted to give you a sneak peak of the place I will go do a full blog about it later but here is a sneak peak. They sell smoothies and ice cream and when they are open they are pretty busy.

Since we couldn't do that we decided to find something else to do, we left and started driving again when my daughter called and needed something so we detoured to her house to take her some stuff, then we headed off to Minnestrista Gardens. But along the way we started talking about the Church (I am gonna do a another post so you understand it better, because it is not what you think it is) and it is where @ladyvinci and I met 20+ years ago.

Sadly it is no longer a church of any kind and is boarded up, but we have fun reminiscing on the front steps. And taking photos of the old building.

Then we were taking photos, me for my blog, @ladyvinci for her paintings (if you don't know her yet and like art check out her blog) When another friend that we all Fishboy we originally met at the Church comes walking up hollaring " The dream is dead give it up" We all really miss the place, the community, we still get together but rarely do we all get together like we use to.

After we got all the photos we came for and chatted with Fishboy for a while we got back in my van and headed on to the Minnetrista center to walk around their gardens. I am planning a total of three pieces to introduce you to Minnestrista because the grounds are really too big for just one piece. If everything goes right the garden's piece will be up tonight.

I am very happy with all the images I shot today but more than anything I am happy I got to hang out with friends. Sometimes with life and kids it is hard to maintain friendships and nurture them and it is nice to have some time to be able to make time to spend with them. It was very nice to have some girl hang out time today.
