Good post! I have been learning about Stoic philosophy in my sports history and philosophy class. Philosophy comes from Greek phylos - love or close friend and sophie - wise or wisdom. ( A friend of wisdom)

I’ve heard this many times. I used to have a friend who’s favorite quote was it’s 80 what happens to you and 20% how you react to it. We set standards for people and expectations from people. This is our biggest mistake because when they don’t meet those standards and/or expectations, we get disappointed. We get upset and sad. Our emotions then take control bc our minds set the bar.
