How to make a better selection using lean concept

In my last post, I already show you one of my International journal regarding the spare part management and inventory control that already solved by using one of lean concept. Actually, the Spare part management and inventory control is the way how to manage and control spare part in optimum ways. The spare parts itself are needed for maintaining and repairing the machine in order to run the production smoothly. The variability of demand of spare parts are commonly happened that create uncertainty condition in spare part. It means, those conditions can be defined as multi-period inventory system with probability approach. In that journal, there was around 8 thousand part that need to be store. Moreover, the capacity of spare part warehouse was not big enough. That's why, the FSN analysis and VSN analysis was used for solving that problem. In the end, from 8 thousand part, only 65 part need to be stored.
Then, can we used the FSN analysis and VSN analysis to apply in our daily activity?
Absolutely, it can. Actually, the FSN analysis and VSN analysis is the Technic to select the best choice regarding our needs. Literally, Fast Moving-Slow Moving-Nonmoving (FSN) Analysis is the selection Technic that performing by filtering anything based on Frequency of usage. Actually, F, S, and N are stand for Fast moving, slow moving and Non-moving items.
Then, VSN analysis is selection technic that performs by filtering the anythings based on the Criticality. There are several factors contribute to the criticality of any choice. Based on criticality, any choice are conventionally classified into three classes which are vital, essential and desirable.

This is the FSN analysis in selecting the part that need to be stored.
It is also can be used in your kitchen to decides what kind of food that need to be store based on your fav menu.

This is the VED analysis for selecting the critical one that need to be stored.
In your kitchen, some your fav menu have the same ingredient which can be the main ingredient. By using this VED analysis we can give the judgement which want the vital ingredient that need to be stored and can cover all your fav menu.
Hence, by trying to used this FSN and VED analysis, hopefully we can created the best choice in our daily activity.
