💕Being a Stay-at-Home Parent is Enough👪

in life •  7 years ago  (edited)

So as my Steemit Username already suggests I am a housewife, but I am also a stay at home mom of two, 6 years old and 10 months old, both boys. Yes I know, one-day testosterone will out vote me!! (Can't beat them so join them, already working on my gaming skills)

For ladies like me, this is our passion. We might not receive a paycheck for what we do, but we actually get so much more in return. Yes, we all need to eat and have a roof over our heads, for that, I thank my wonderful hard working husband.

Remember ladies, hold your head up high when people look down on you when you answer their question of "What do you do for a living?"

We are Raising the Future

Crossing our fingers we don't mess up too much doing the best we can, (kids don't come with a manual). We are raising not just our own kids, but someone's husband and father, someone's wife and mother. No pressure!

For those of us who homeschool, we are laying the foundation for the next generation of doctors, lawyers, CEO's, nurses, chefs, photographers etc. I don't really care what title my kids will chase one day, as long they are making a good and honest living, are happy, well-mannered gentleman with their faith, values, and integrity intact.

I believe when kids have a firm foundation, they will always come back to it when they might lose sight for a while.

We are there to counsel our children when they need us, we are wives and mothers to support our husbands and children when they need a shoulder to lean on when they guidance and when they need follow their dreams.
Some may ask then, But what about your dreams, don't you have any? Yes, I have hobbies in life I would like to get to when I have the time. But, my family is my dream. My dream is to ensure my family stays whole, to see them happy and to help them prosper in life.

Kids grow up fast, don't wait for tomorrow. Because soon they will fly the coop.

I have a short while to have my kids with me before they start their own lives and families, I have the rest of my life to pursue other things.
Important Tip: Ladies don't alienate your husband in the process because when the children move out, you don't want to be looking at the man thinking "What now?", contrary to belief, your husband takes priority over your children.

I love that video! I have never seen that before! I am also a housewife, homeschool mom and I love it. For sure there is no way I'd trade this for another job. I love being with my kids. My husband works from home, so we are around each other a lot of the time...in a foreign country...and this week we haven't had a car. That is a lot of together time! Thanks for the post!! I'm going to follow you, fellow housewife! Have a blessed day!

I wish I was a stay -at-home mom, but my husband says he can't afford it unfortunately. Actually I know we can't unless we scale down a lot...so sad...

Don't worry, as long as you spend time with your kids and husband, it's all they need, this just mean they look up to you in a different way, you are a mother who helps provide for her family when she was needed. It makes your job as a mother harder but it makes you stronger too

i just watched 'Bad mom' and it so funny movie. seems it relates here too, not saying that you are bad mom though. The movie is about moms not knowing what they should do next. and that is why they are great at it. It comes naturally.

I bet you are a great mom too..

Haha I watched that movie too, great movie and on the nose. Being a parent is challenging, every child, parent, and life circumstances are unique and you need to adjust accordingly. And now that I have two kids, I can see first hand how they differ already so your approach changes too with every child

It is really cool that you are already making adjustments to stay relevant to and actively communicate with your kids. Gaming is not a bad way to do it for as long as they also get enough 'them time'. :c)

I also commend you on being so conscious of the responsibility of raising a child. Again- don't overdo it as you'll worry yourself out of form. :c)

All the best with your journey!

Haha thanks! But I always worry. But they do get enough "them time" so ny husband and myself can have some "us time" too, otherwise we live past each other.

From one mom to another, we are definitely raising the future! Awesome job and keep going :) I have upvoted your post. You can follow me @Kurk888 should you wish to do so. Take care

Haha and they don't always make it easy, they may ve little but so strong willed 😁

Lovely post - need more people like you to bring good people into the world @the-housewife

Thank you @pandamama 😊

I wish I could have been a stay-at-home-mom. But I stayed home for the first year in each of my kids life. Later on I divorced and had to work. But my daughters are now 11 and 14 and we are really close<3 I have been home a lot, did not worked full time. I love spending time with my kids and I think it's important for them:-) Nice post, and great choice in life<3

Thank you 😊
It's great that you have a close relationship with your daughters, especially at that age. Time flies and before you know it they are all grown up
