MOTORCYCLING- ONE PASSION THAT CHANGED THE COURSE OF MY LIFE

in life •  7 years ago

I was introduced to the world of automobiles and motorcycles by my father. But as an Indian kid you are by default into all this. Now I was a kid who just had raw knowledge of all this. To me, every superbike was a HAYABUSA and every red sportscar or supercar was a FERRARI or otherwise a LAMBORGHINI.
As I grew older I learned a lot from my father who was a car and bike nut himself and was a huge fan of Lambrettas and Royal Enfields. That love for automotive stuuf transitioned into me by heredity.

When you are about to turn 18, you always have the dilemma of which motorcycle to buy. Now by the way I am by nature, I was always careful with matters involving money. I used to walk to college for 2km to avoid paying for the bus. You could say I was a KANJOOS.
So my plan for a bike was also similar. I wanted the best value for money bike at the time. And that was when I saw the ad for the Mahindra Centuro. It was a bike that had almost all the bells and whistles similar to a car like sirens and all that

And I was almost on the verge of telling it to my father.
But little did I know that I was in for a surprise of a lifetime.
My dad had already booked a bike for me. He did not tell me which bike it was.
Then one day he took me to a dealer.
A ROYAL ENFIELD dealer.
And there it stood, The most beautiful motorcycle I had ever seen in my life.
The ROYAL ENFIELD CONTINENTAL GT CAFE RACER

But My bike

Now you might wonder why the ROYAL ENFIELD logos are different...well there is where the twist in my life came to be.
I was not into all the safety stuff and safe riding things. I didn't have any motorcycle skills except knowing how to ride in a straight line. The turning point came when I crashed my bike and went to MEET the bike at the hospital....I mean the service centre and there is where I realized that there was more to motorcycling than just riding.
(p.s the logo changed because my tank was replaced)
Then I was introduced to youtube and I saw videos of how to ride a motorcycle.
skills such as counter steering, weight distribution etc. And this went on until I came across a channel called Oggy f (https://www.youtube.com/user/fernandesOg10), And there was when I got introduced to the world ofMOTOVLOGGING, then after many channels I thought, isn't there a motovlogger from mangalore? And there is when I came across WANDERENWHEELS (https://steemit.com/@wandereronwheels AND https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7ox-tYUUTe9eUs3dr20xPw) and I people like them inspired e to take up motovlogging. I mean there are people like GOPRO MAN,

Now believe me I dont know how I transitioned from being a simple NERD boy to a motorcycle enthusiast,
WAS IN MY GENES I BELIEVE,
that was my story intil now
