I took a little trip to Hawaii today. Nah, just what I like to call the Tiki House. This backyard is incredible, it’s really like stepping through a magic portal into a tropical Polynesian paradise! Towering bamboo are all around, with small and large tiki carvings peaking out from every direction, nook and cranny.

Even when it’s cold like today was, it feels like a slice of the islands in there. My favorite is the huge bamboo that grows in large clumps all around the small packed space. There’s even an old rowboat leaned against the house with fishing nets and other such sea themed nick-knacks scattered about.

It was my best friends birthday today so we went out to a new to us pizza place. Ordered some wings to start off and they were they best wings I’ve had in a long time! I think they use a different kind of oil to fry them in than what most places usually use because they were quite crispy but didn’t have an overbearing greasiness to them that usually overshadows chicken wings that I’ve eaten in the past.

But the main attraction of the evening was the pizza. The place we went to is known for their specialty pizzas, and this one was really good! It had pork in red salsa, chorizo, carnitas, and a garlic sauce and chili flakes. Wow, what a flavor explosion! The thin crust was very nice and crispy too, just the way I like it.

After eating till we were thoroughly satisfied by the meal, we went to a nearby home goods store to pick up a few things for the apartment. While browsing around, I took a couple pictures of some funny things laying around:

The golden dog on a skateboard was really cracking me up, what is it for, and who comes up with this stuff? I think I should visit this store again in the future and maybe take some more pictures of the treasures on offer there...
