Made a Live Plant Beta Bowl for my sons Beta...

in life •  7 years ago

Just wanted to share a quick lil look at a live plant hopefully soon to be self sustaining Beta Bowl I started for Bulba my sons beta. I was shocked to find how intellegent these fish are, they recognize you and react to your coming homeas if a dog would pacing back n fourth in the bowl..(obviously because I stop n drop some krill and flake in the top for him.)

My goal was to begin to put together a self sustaining ecosystem using live plants, alges, snail, ect. I started with a few small live plants to let begin to take root to the gravel. ill add a few snails, some moss balls maybe some dwarf grass in a week or two.

Originally we had him in a smaller tank given to my son by his cousin, a cheaper plastic tank but the led housing was amazing.. I took that light and built a small bracket i fastened it to and created the LED light for the new bowl. Heres a pic of the old tank it was good but i wanted something more natural looking .
