The biggest prison we live in - EVERYONEsteemCreated with Sketch.

Hey my friend I hope you are doing well. The biggest prison we live in is: FEAR!

Fear is everywhere in our lives: Fear to fail a test, afraid to address a woman, fear of change, fear of quitting the job, fear of telling someone the truth, fear of saying what we really think, and above all: fear of rejection. "What will the waiter thing if I say the meal was not tasty?" - "What will he think if I ask him for his number?" "What will the boss think if i tell him my opinion about this topic."

It's a prison we all live in. You have to understand, that fear is a construct of our thoughts of what might happen in the future. Simple as that.
So in fact we are afraid of our own thoughts! That's crazy!
And, as we all know from experience, our selfmade constructs are always very very negative. Most of the time, it's complete nonsense and has nothing to do with reality.

So what can we do against it?

  1. Stop being your worst opponent and learn to accept yourself and your weaknesses.
  2. If you are afraid of something and your thoughts start to go crazy, tell yourself "STOP - that's bullshit". Sounds strange, but it works.
  3. Ask yourself: What can happen in the worst case? And if it happens, how bad is it? (In relation to REAL problems, such as not having enough to eat or to drink.)
  4. "Memori morti" - think of death. Sounds crazy I know. But it really helps to clarify your mind. How bad is the result compared to the death? At some point, we will all be divorcing this world. Do we want to realize in the sight of death that we have spent our lives being afraid of unimportant things? Definitely NOT!

Conclusion: Fear prevents us from unfolding our full potential and living a full life regardless of the expectations of others.

I wish you all a fearless life, because always remember: Every decision we make carries a risk. Any decision we do not make, too.

Have a nice day my friends! Best regards - thesimpleman
