He is two and troublesome;crying louder to gain an attention and stamping the sofa to get out the pieces of foam from inside the chair. It seems interesting to him to watch the parlor filled with round, yellow droppings of uncountable mess. Isn't he a destructive little thing--a rascal of a sort? He probably got it from his sin-nature!? LOL.
Since when did that become a transgression of Gods law?
Have you ever looked at a baby, maybe your own baby and say, "Hey, you son of the devil"?
It's unlikely you have but...
Why not? After all, those are people with the sin-nature?
This is where the double standard creeps in. Some fundamental part of us see our babies as innocent, upright, untouched. But there is the religious part--the part that obeys what our pastors say. And they have made us believe our babies are born sin-natured, contaminated, defiled!
Some people conduct deliverance for babies. Some even baptise to purify.
In the past, the clergy used Psalm 58 verse 3 to defend that claim 3 The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies
But there is a problem "if" the wicked becomes wicked from the womb. I have never seen a neonate speak before--how much more speak lies! Why stick to one part of the text and not the other?
Apparently, if you read the whole of that Psalm, David was again being allegorical, symbolic and our bishops have interpreted it so literally. Worse still,we also believed implicitly.
To those who are pregnant with a child,or just gave birth to one; your child is God's creation, created in God's image. So special he/she is to God that Jesus repeated in ALL the synoptic gospels this statement:
"Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.”
Jesus never says this of sinners! The kingdom of God is for the upright!
Matthew is even more blunt.
Mat 18:3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and(kai-even as) [become] as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Converted there is /strepho/ which means to turn one's self aright. In order words, children have a right self.
The age where accountability begins is NOT explicitly stated in scripture. We will best leave it to God who knows all things.
Hebrews 4:13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
Will your belief about little children change now? Will you still condemn them to a nature of sin or see them just as God sees them?
God made them clean. No one should say otherwise.
