This Synagogue is the largest Synagogue in Europe and second largest in the world. It was bulit in the 19th century and today serves both as a tourist attraction and a sacred place for Jewish people. It is directed to the east, facing Jerusalem. Interestingly, it samples medieval North African and Spanish Islamic architecture.

I have never seen the inside of a synagogue, but the outside view is always breathtaking. This is a great photo and a good use of Steepshot.
