The last couple of months have been a roller coaster of events for me. I was away from Steem, due to many things I had to deal with offline. I'm gradually getting off that load now, and it's about time I returned to writing. The last time I dropped an article was over 3 months ago, and I wanna share some of the things I dealt with during that period - The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly. One post however will not do justice to all at once, so we start with the good...
The Marriage
September 11 2021 was full of glitz and glamour as my brother, Oludotun got wedded to his sweetheart, Tolulope. The duo met in the university, where they both studied Quantity Surveying, but Oludotun was about 4 years ahead of Tolulope. They dated for about a year, after which they decided to tie the knot. There was a lot of preparations to be made on our side, as the wedding took place in Akure, about 185 miles from Abeokuta, where we reside.
The journey to Akure took us a little over 5 hours. We started off quite early, around 8:00am on Friday, September 10. There was enough time for everyone to rest, especially the caterers, who had to wake up early the next morning to cook for the event.
The event of the day started with the engagement ceremony. after which the reception held. It was really beautiful and colourful. I'll let the pictures speak from here...
Here Comes the Bride
With This Ring, I Marry You

Groom and Bride dance into the reception
It was truly a glamorous event. There was a lot to eat and drink, and the band was really good. the MC likewise gave no room for dull moments. The event ended in the evening, and we returned to our hotel rooms to continue the fun, and we left Akure the next morning, back to Abeokuta.
The Birthday
Another beautiful thing that happened to me in recent times was that on the 20th of October, my firstborn, Rereloluwa clocked one. A lot of planning comes with a baby's first birthday, so as to make it special, but our plans this time could not come to full manifestation due to certain circumstances (to be revealed in the next post). Gladly, we made out time for her to have a birthday photo shoot, and she cut her birthday cake with family.
I feel I can once again, say a happy birthday to my beautiful daughter, Rereloluwa Zoe Onakoya. Long life and prosperity sweetheart.
This is simply a highlight of some of the great events that came up while I was out of active posting. My next post will be some other events that were not so good. I hope however that this is my come back post, as I hope to resume writing and blogging. Many thanks to my friend, @crypto.piotr, who always checked on me while I was away.
Thank you very much for reading this post, I appreciate your contributions. Remember also to always check back.
