Why do we live in such scarcity in a World with so much abundance? Nature provides so much there should never be any kind of lack. Look at Africa and the sheer amount of minerals and resources it has, its staggering that there are people starving to death in a continent that should be absolutely thriving, yet it has been on its knees for decades? The hypocrisy of the west once again is staggering, the very people that raped that land and caused all this poverty launching campaigns such as ‘Feed the World’. Funny how there is always money for War but never the poor though. Just one month that the US government spends on the military could solve the poverty crisis in Africa. So why isn’t that being done? So many questions and not enough answers.
We have to come away from thinking that society is like this by chance but not by design. Scarcity mind control keeps people in fear day after day. Fear of running out and not having enough. When you come from a place of fear the idea of challenging that system that feeds your daily scraps becomes even more frightening, people associate it with biting the hand that feeds you (even though its peanuts). What if the scraps dry up? Yet why does it have to even be scraps? Others don’t live off scraps, those who make the decisions of course. We’re conditioned to just have enough to get by that we cannot even imagine a life of abundance. Could it be that people on a subconscious level have such a low opinion of themselves that they feel that they don’t deserve it?
There are people that set these food and energy prices, the movers and shakers the REAL power players who are ensuring its more for them and less for everyone else. Work them to the bone so they are too exhausted to work out what is going on. This is what makes consumerism even more crazy in that people are under this scarcity mindset yet continue to buy more and live beyond their means. So again who is really to blame here? Is it the people setting the prices that dictate the amount of abundance available to the masses, or is it the masses themselves who never hold the people dictating to account and demand better, I would go one further and say we should stop looking for dictators altogether because it never works out well.
We are the cause of our own downfall in so many ways, once again greed, lack of care, and general apathy guarantees that we are fully taken advantage of. I sound like a broken record but it always comes back to that one issue, people need to start giving a fuck! The system has been cleverly set up to suit the system and its been allowed to happen pretty much unchecked. I would say that at this point in time if we are to want a more abundant World for ourselves then we are going to have to work for it, we have to earn it and undo hundreds of years of apathy and ignorance. The positives are that in terms of the general numbers we are in the majority compared to the people making the decisions, but people need to wake up and smell the coffee before its too late.

It seems there is another book to read¿ I come from abundance, although I have known lack thereof. I truly believe one has to learn control of self. The physical within which one lives will provide, if one controls one's thoughts and feeling pertaining to it. I realize it can be an extremely difficult concept to 'make real'(realize) but the apparent outside surroundings are a reflection of one's inner world, and therefore as one changes the precepts of one's feelings and thinking, and one's inner life becomes abundant, the 'physical' outer life reciprocates with greater abundance. It is a contemplative exercise oneself uses by practical use of imaginative and visualization techniques of a richer and more balanced 'you.'
I need to contemplate a better explanation possibly, but when I lived with bush-aborigines, they owned nothing except a pair of shorts and a throwing stick, and possibly a spear. Although to say ownership of even those is a misnomer, as one man might be better at making spears while another at throwing. Same same, with killing sticks and boomerangs. We set out on walkabout having first asked the (shaman) Kadaicha-man to visualize a direction to fruiting groves. We walked across true desert and secondary scrub, finding occasional protein in bugs, and snakes and lizards, with a fun day once chasing rabbits. [Rabbits cost more chasing down in the way of sustenance than they actually produce in nutrient food.] We were hungry but not debilitated, after nine days when we came to an oasis and the grove of various trees was in fruit. There was also some ground roots, and we neither stripped the soil nor the trees, but rested at the water two days, while the kadaicha-man chose another direction to lead us across the arid wastes. I came back to civilization, very 'happy'(free in my mind), fit and healthy after several weeks walking from nowhere to never never, around a bush with no visible means of sustenance, without first practicing contemplation and visualization. So I do believe abundance starts with control of one's inner world.
Keep on keeping on. 😇

I've forgotten more, some of it is just being there. I had to work hard to see, -a shade of green, or a type of leaf, or the way a shadow shows the ground. They were very patient with me and the number of times I was shown then didn't see the next time, well. At the time, I was having fun, not studying for a paper. Even living the practical doesn't make it any easier from one aspect, because a white boy from suburbia would think he were hungry All the time. Some tricks of water, and bush-tucker, and I saved my own life a couple of times. But what I learned as Number 1. is, don't. Don't go without a radio or two-way, don't go without a bushman or aboriginal bush tribesman, don't rely on finding sufficient water, and basically don't go without proper preparation, and if not local, do let local Police know your intended route. 😇

Without wanting to sound like a Scientologist or anything, I think half of solution lies in the 'removal' of toxic personalities from positions of power.
For everyone 100 people out there, more than half are generally decent and reasonable people, who are just trying to get by. We all have our own foibles and idiosyncrasies, but as a rule of thumb, the so called 'silent majority' is more or less grounded and pleasant to deal with.
Then you have another percentage of generally mean-spirited, anti-social people. Some suffer from mild personality disorders, but the fact they don't yield any significant financial or political power means they don't pose any real danger to the rest of us.
It is only when this class of sociopaths is allowed to climb in the ranks , that we really have a problem. You have a small sub-set of ruthless, driven, high-functioning sociopaths who will trample on anyone in the name of success.
If we can someone get the silent majority to impose societal 'sanctions' against these critters in the early stages of the power process, I feel we might be able to alleviate the situation.
This can come in a variety of ways, and through small things like standing up to a sycophantic co-worker trying to gain favor with the boss, or starting your own business, so that you can hire people and treat them with a modicum of respect.
Sorry for the dissertation, but this is a topic I think about quite often. It's good to see there are people out there who share my thoughts and apprehensions.

Well said and whilst I agree with most of what you've said its ust the fact that we have allowed this to happen that kind of gets my goat!

For sure. It's like the water crisis in South Africa. How can a society be so complacent as to allow these things to happen. It truly is frustrating!

Right on! If only people started abandoning their supermarket and growing in community gardens the world would change rapidly 💯🐒

Sorry, you're wrong.
r K theory explains abundance and scarcity.
It is a quantity (r) vs quality (K) issue.
r-selected organisms reproduce to maximize quantity, K-selected organism reproduce to maximize quality.
When there is abundance, r-selected strategies win, because even low-quality offspring can obtain some of the abundance and survive, so their greater numbers win.
But, that causes a decline in quality of the population of members of the environment, until the abundance disappears. Eventually the quality of the social body becomes so low, the population can no longer maintain the previous quality of life. Then, societal meltdown or, in case of animals in a natural environment, mass extinction occurs.
This is an ancient problem. Life quickly forgets that power ceases in the moment of repose.
