Writing is More Difficult Than Speaking

Writing is more difficult than speaking. We learn to speak when we are babies. In order to speak, we must use our throat, tounge and mouth. We can say the same words in many ways and change their meaning. If we are angry, we use a load voice, if we are sad, we use a low quiet voice.

People can always tell how we feel by the way we say the words. For example, if we speak in a loud voice, then everyone will know that we are angry. When we write, however, people do not know how we really feel. We may be sad but we can write a letter to someone using only happy words and they will never know we were sad.

We don't learn how to write when we are babies because it is more difficult to learn than speaking. Before we can learn how to write, we must learn how to read. In order to write, we must use our eyes, fingers, hand, arm, and body. We must sit in a certain way to write well, hold our arm in a special way, hold a pen or pencil in our hand in a certain way and we must use our eyes to see where we are writing and check how we write.

Almost everyone who has a toungue and a good throat can speak, but not everyone who has good hand, arms, eyes, and body can write. Almost everyone in the world can speak but many millions of people cannot write.
