What is your favorite book?

I have been reading a lot lately! It feels like I have been starving for books.

One of my favorite series will always be the Harry Potter series by JK Rowling. They are such magical books that have genius story lines. They are books you can enjoy no matter what age you are.

source

I have read The Giver by Lois Lowry at least three times. If you haven't read it, I recommend giving it a chance. Something I have learned about books is that different ones speak to different people. No two people have the same library!

source

Moonraker's Bride by Madeleine Brent was such a nice surprise for me! It is now one of my favorites. It is and older book and hard to find, but it is so worth it.

source

Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen is such a classic! I will definitely be reading it again.

Some books that I just recently finished reading are: Into the Water by Paula Hawkins, The Birth House by Ami McKay, and Daring Greatly by Brené Brown. I actually enjoyed all of them!

What are some of your favorite books?

Blessings!

I LOVE the Harry Potter series! And my favorite book is moonrakers bride! Its such a good book!! The Omally series by Dee Henderson is pretty good too!

Yes, the O'Malley Series is one of my faves too!

I love the Saga of Recluce series by L.E.Modesitt but I think if I had to pick just one book it would be The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss.

I haven't read any if those books. I will keep them in mind!

I'll second the recommendation for Patrick Rothfuss. If you want to read a little more fantasy I would start with that or pretty much anything from Brandon Sanderson(Warbreaker if you want one book, Mistborn if you want to start with a trilogy)

Great! Thanks for the suggestion!

I love all of Paulo Coelho's Books!

I haven't read any books by him! What are they like?

Personal Growth, Faith, Self-Steem explained in stories, I reccomend you to read The Pilgrim of Compostela or The Alchemist if you want to start reading him.

Highly recommend Paulo Coelho's books. I also liked Veronika decides to die.

Awesome! I will look those up!

I'm still waiting for my Hogwarts letter.

Me too! 😁

Me three:)

I love all Jane Austin's book. An old lady once told me that if I wanted to know what was going on in the world that I should read Taylor Caldwell's Captains and the Kings. The introduction is better than the book but the book is very good and I enjoyed reading it. Another book by Caldwell called The Devil's Advocate is also very good. Of course as difficult as they are to read Ayn Rand's books a very popular. I read Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged. Definitely worth reading.

These are great suggestions! I will look then up!

😍😍😍😍

You know me @uglysweater ... "The 10X Rule" My favorite lol

Lol! Is it actually a good book?

My number one book ever :)

I will look for it! 😁

Have you read the His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman? They're so good and they might be right up your alley!

No, I haven't! I will add them to my list!

One of my favorites is The Physiognomy by Jeffrey Ford. It was a bizarre and fascinating read.

I will have to keep my eyes open for that one!

Think my favourite book is Dune by Frank Herbert

I haven't even heard of it! What is it about?

It a sci-fi trilogy, that was very successful and further books were added it to. Was made into a film and a Tv series.
The story is set in the future, around a planet called Arrakis (Dune). It is a desert, but there is mined a very special substance called The Spice Malange. If you have power of Arrakis, then you hold great weight in the universe.
I really can't give the book justice, read it and you will understand why it's my favourite book.

Hope the link works :)

Awesome, thanks! 😁

Good taste :)

These are really good book recommendations. My favorites are "The master and Margarita", "the knight in the panther's skin", "Anna Karenina", "the little prince" and 100 more :)

I should totally read those!

I love this post! I've read Moonraker's Bride to my kids when they were little and they loved it. Good work:)

Thank you! 💙

Ok, obviously I'm on the Potter and LOTR train. I like fantasy stuff.

How To Get Filthy Rich In Rising Asia: It's awesome because it's written in the 2nd person. The experience is fantastic. It follows a kid from the slums to the top, but you kind feel like the kid because of the great writing style.

i Robot by Issac Asimov is awesome. He comes up with all kinds of interesting AI scenarios that keeps you guessing. It's so fun. Anything by Asimov is pretty groundbreaking.

Cheers. Thanks for the fun question.

I haven't heard of How to Get Filthy Rich in Rising Asia.
I have seen the iRobot movie several times, but haven't read the book!

iRobot is a bunch of short stories where Asimov plays all kinds of games imagining the implications of smart machines. It's really really interesting.
Cheers.

Of all these books I've read before I agree they are amazing and I want to read the ones I haven't. I think my favorite book would have to be Pride and Predjusdice. Although there are so many close runners up that I don't know. I love this post @uglysweater!📕 📗 📘 📙 📚 📖

Thanks, lovely! <3

The Castle - Franz Kafka

I haven't read that one!

I totally recommend it. You won't regret it :) If you ever find the time to read it, please let me know about it :)

Okay! 😁

I love reading about the historical romance during victorian era,
My favourite authors are Julia Quinn and Johanna Lindsey, but these books are more light reading with no real historical evidence.

I would suggest reading Empress Orchid and The Last Empress by Anchee Min, it's a mesmerizing book about the history behind the walls of the forbidden city of China back in the days, more to the feminine point of view. I have read it several times and still love them!

Thanks for your suggestions! :D

Have you read The girl on train by paula hawkins?? That's good. You'll love it :)

Not yet! But I have seen the movie and it was good!

The Fountainhead was fascinating...

I have only seen the movie!

John Steinbeck and Ernest Hemmingway both have some terrific titles you would be remiss not to read, at least 'The Pearl' by Steinbeck and 'The old man and the Sea' by Hemmingway. Two books I could be stranded on an island with forever are 'Siddhartha' by Herman Hesse and 'Candide' by Voltaire.

I will keep these in mind because I haven't read any of them!

I'm almost jealous that you'll be able to read these fresh, I've the read each a few times. They aren't long works, but they are powerful.

Too bad we can't delete our memory of a book so we can enjoy it like the first time all over again!

Alzheimer's? I guess not really a great wish.

Yeah, maybe not, when you put it that way.

I've read The Giver and Daring Greatly...both good choices.

I think Kevin Kelly's The Inevitable is a most read for 2017!

I will look for that one!

I'm a big Potter fan, and definitely a Ravenclaw. I love Margaret Atwood's books and anything dystopian, but mostly I'm into reading spiritual books on Buddhism and meditation, I also love sciencey books about animals and space. Great post!

I need to read some Margaret Atwood!

Tough one - I'd have to choose auto repair manuals.

Not Twilight?

It was close.

@drobinson! LOL!!
