Sharing is Caring
I spent quite a bit of the day dropping short posts on my Facebook account based on what I've been reading and watching, not so much to garner responses from my friends or to trigger people, but in that genuine way of wanting to share and ask some difficult questions. Over the last couple of years, since I took my last break from it, I have been paying attention to my reaction to posts that bother me. I've been analyzing and monitoring my scrolling and have generally kept it to promoting my Steemit posts (which get almost no reach) and other things related to the activities I do. Often I feel the need to say something, and given that social media has always "been there" for that when I'm not physically around people my brain-farts are being scrutinized before being given the green light. Until earlier, where for some reason I was compelled to just let it fly in a string of interrelated posts, I've managed to stick to the game plan as it were. Being an observant person, I make it more of a point not share my thoughts on social media unless of course, they are compelling.
Valuing Time
Thinking back, I never had much respect for time. There was either not enough or too much, nor did I usefully value it. But one thing is for sure, I've felt controlled by it and at times anxious. I'm sure that's pretty normal when I look around at friends and loved ones, so few years ago I decided to take a break to relieve the anxiety I felt when I didn't do anything. As a nomadic soloist it's always "go go go" and I could never really allow myself to feel good about not doing anything, at all. So what did I do? I did nothing. While focused on it being a good thing to appreciate and be aware of. I allowed myself to feel good about whatever I did. Now I've had enough, it's time to add value to what ever remaining opportunity I have left. The awareness of how I want to use my time has increased my productivity in a focused and constructive way that is still flexible enough to throw in some doing nothing, but adding balance. It might have been the adherence to punctuality as a young person and the fun of scheduling and peering into the future. A Third Phase is lending to a new blend of balance, mixing the previous interpretations of time into union and into action.
Taking notes
Do you still carry a notebook and pen or pencil around with you? For me, it's half n half these days. A variety of handwritten notes coat my desk on an assortment of angles. More so in the ones in books, tucked or stacked away but within reach most of the time. There's also that place we call "behind the laptop" we cant complain about. Like an ever active volcano smokes, I have ideas. Taking notes is kinda my thing if the idea is worth it. Mental notes become spontaneous and fleeting, mostly I hold and expand them for the sake of stimulation and exercise. It's exactly that right now as I type, I'm taking notes on my thoughts as they flow, link and manifest on the Blockchain to be reviewed and shared. Thankfully I started young, with instruction from @artmonkey I kept a consistent travel journal that eventually etched the idea of writing before I go to sleep into my early travels. And even in that case, it read like a recap of activities, people, sites and the odd reflective moment. I see things coming full circle now, with a full moon shinning it could be considered auspicious or just a reflection of the cycle of life and rebirth. Who knows. But it's time to take note.
Keep it cooking
I'm happy to say it's been just over a week of not eating out. A hard thing to accomplish living alone and existing in Kuala Lumpur (PJ lah). It's not like I suddenly had a falling out with the food, it's a more conscious choice to provide myself with my own creations, sprinkled with love and attention. A meditative ritual it is when you construct only to destroy. I'm not picky, I pretty much eat anything, but there's something about cooking for yourself, shopping for the ingredients and making it happen. I can pretty much eat whatever I want, whenever I want provided I have enough time on hand (I think I mentioned that earlier). I got myself a new ceramic juice squeezer that has been useful for my stash of citrus and tangy vitamin C. Let me savor it, it might not always be this way.
Day Seven
The End
Always been doing items one to three, except the fourth xD takes too much time! Anyway, it’s funny that I’ve been writing a lot of the more serious stuff in fb back then with but got almost no engagement, but moving them to steem made all the difference.
Anyway, non-serialised post titles generally work way better. Title makes a lot of difference in getting clicks

Thanks @etherpunk! Great tip, I've started to notice that. Making the alternation to post delivery right now for my upcoming Day One post!

I read recently that writing something by hand is a lot more stimulating and productive that just typing it out on a computer. I tried it, and I have to say, it is definitely true!

I agree to varying degrees. It saves me so much time to type on my phone or computer, I don't have to do twice the work and I can type faster and cleared than I can write with a pen. But... Nothing beats a pen and a pad that's for sure!
