Throwback Thursday: Four photos recovered from 7-10 years ago.

In 2008, my mom gave me a 5-megapixel camera as a Christmas gift - an old model of ViviCam from the Vivitar brand. I was so thrilled that I’d just take a photo of everything, including selfies. I never considered photography as a hobby though, but I did overuse the camera by just taking photos of anything. Sadly, the camera eventually broke – no idea if it has been overused (haha)... but yeah it doesn’t work anymore. I still have it though.

Recently, as I was going through my old stuff, I found the camera and a memory card in it. This let me recover some photos. Thinking that I could upload this to instagram, I cropped them into square sizes. But then I thought to share them here instead. Upon looking at the photos, you will see that I am a big fan of nature. Please enjoy these photos and the stories behind them:

Photo #1

“Reaching for the light” (2008). This was taken in my room from our old house (we moved out 3 years later). I was trying to take a photo of my hand but I noticed the light was a great background. So I clicked, added a B+W filter, tweaked the contrast, and voila.

Photo #2

“Kitty Cat” (2009). In 2009, I transferred to my late dad’s place to finish high school. This was a stray cat that would always roam around our house to ask for food. I asked my dad if we could adopt the cat and he agreed. In 2011, I left that place to pursue college in a city 8 hours away from my dad’s home and I’ve never seen this cat ever since.

Photo #3

“Rural Skyline” (2010). This breathtaking view was directly from behind my dad’s home. It was late afternoon and I thought, why not take a photo? It was a very relaxing scene and back in high school, I would always watch this whenever I arrived home.

Photo #4

“Triplet Kittens” (2011). Remember that caption from the first photo when my mom moved out from her old home (my dad and mom are separated and each have their own home, please don’t be confused haha)? Well, this was taken from the then “new” home. My aunt had an 8-year old cat who had given birth for the nth time (LOL) to three little kittens and here they were. Since I was going to college that time, I only had few days to stay at home and I’ve never seen these kitties again.

I hope I could show more but unfortunately, I deleted other photos. It was because they were just random photos and back then until now, I never considered a career in photography (not even a hobby). The photos above, though, are gold to me. Of all the many photos I had in that memory card, these are the ones which I think have some sort of a sentimental value. I am in a nostalgia mode right now though I can't help but smile because I also remember what kind of a high school kid I was. Should I write about that later? Hmmm.

See you in the next post. Love lots~
