Before knowing the early signs of Kidney failure, you need to have an idea of the kidney and its important.
The kidneys are two bean-shaped organs, each about the size of a fist. They are located just below the rib cage, one on each side of the spine. In adults they are about 11 cm (centimetres) in length. They receive blood from the paired renal arteries ; blood exits into the paired
renal veins. Each kidney is attached to a ureter , a tube that carries excreted urine to the
bladder.
The kidneys are important because they keep the composition of the blood stable, which lets the body function. They
1)Prevent the buildup of wastes and extra fluid in the body
2)Make hormones that help
a)regulate blood pressure
b)make red blood cells
c)bones stay strong
3)Keep levels of electrolytes stable, such as potassium and sodium.
Symptoms of kidney failure can develop when your kidneys quit working. Chronic kidney failure (or disease) occurs gradually over long periods of time such as months or years.Acute kidney failure occurs suddenly when something happens to stop your kidney from working. It is very important that you recognize the symptoms of kidney failure so that you can see your doctor to find out why your kidneys are failing.
The signs are as follows:
1)Swelling:When the kidneys aren't working properly, they are not able to remove the excess fluid in the body which leads to swelling in hand, legs, feets, ankles and face.If you notice an unexpected swelling,it may possibly be reason for Kidney failure.
2)Changes in Urination:Difficulty urinating and feel pressure, urinate with dark coloured urine, small amounts or less often, urinate with pale urine in large amounts or more often,if urine may be bubbly or foamy urinate in middle of the night.
3)Skin Rash:When kidneys are in failure, they are not able to remove the waste from the blood, which can cause skin rash or severe itching.Due to waste accumulation in the blood, the skin gets irritated and dry.
4)Shortness of breath:Kidney can also cause shortness of breadth because the body can be lefted starved of oxygen. All this comes due to the shortage of oxygen that blood cells carry, and is caused by extre fluids which builds up in the lung.
5)Fatigue:When kidneys are healthy, there is an hormone called EPO or erythropoietin is produced, which is responsible for making red blood cells and they carry oxygen. On the other hand,if kidneys are damaged, they are only fewer red blood cells that carry oxygen and then the muscles are becoming fatigued easily and quickly, and it leads to anemia.
6)Pain:Damaged kidney can cause pain in the back or on side. Moreover, kidney infections are causing spasms and severe pain.
7)Metallic taste in the mouth:This is when waste accumulates in the blood and could be symptom of kidney damage if there is a change in your food preferences or loss of appetite.
8)Trouble concentration and Dizziness:Anemia is related to kidney damage because the brain is not getting enough oxygen as it needs which causes this condition to occur. As a result,it comes to trouble with concentration, dizziness and memory loss.
