Australia postal voting on gay marriage

in life •  7 years ago  (edited)

In Australia the government has decided its a good idea to throw millions of dollars on a postal plebicite vote to leagalise same sex marriage.

Firstly what a waste of money, in this day and age cant we vote over the internet? Perhaps no is the answer due to the poor internet here in Australia not to mention the nbn debacle.

But why create such a big issue and cause division in the country, as it is inevitable to be voted in as the rest of the western world has already passed in legislation.

The government already acknowledges same sex marriage in the welfare system as defacto.

For the no reasoning side,
for that the Faith some have in our creator, should not be for same sex marriage as it is impossible to argue that same sex was of the creators intent or design. Religious Leaders that agree with a yes vote should reasses their faith model.

As government is to provide order for the population and the same sex community is in the population, from a government view it is hard for them to not vote yes, but are we in agreeance that the church or faith is separate from government?
