how people get their steemithit i have no idea

how do people steemit or hit the steem engine and get upvote post? Is there any short cut method to get upvote. It seems i am all in the dark beating about the bushes to get vote by in vain. Some post do they really deserve !!!! left many new steemit blogger utter shit and still no result. I think many of us miss the bus. lol
