They say a picture is worth a thousand words...

So, what does this one say?

I really do believe that saying is true, although I am not quite sure what this picture says to me.

Have you ever wondered what that old saying means exactly?

For starters...

"A picture is worth a thousand words" is considered an idiom.

Cool! What's an idiom?

An idiom is something that refers to something else, it's not mean to be taken literally. It's meaning cannot be deduced from a literal interpretation of the words used in the phrase.

So, what does that phrase mean exactly?

"A picture is worth a thousand words" refers to the notion that a complex idea can often be conveyed just as thoroughly with just a single still image.

Often times an image is able to convey it's meaning even more effectively than a lengthy description might.

Now that we are done with our English lesson...

What does the above image say to you?
