Five year old set up lemonade stand and is punished with a 200$ fine

That's extremely shitty, but it goes to show that the state will rain on anyone's parade when it feels like. I hope the parents have the sense to explain to their child that what the cops did was wrong. It'd be horrible if the lesson that child took out of this was, "You can't do anything without State permission, so I'll just work a crappy State job instead of being an innovative entrepreneur."

Let's hope so. Unfortunately the "you can't do anything without state permission" is the mindset most people have. And that's because of parents, teachers and media.

Yeah, the constant reinforcement of that mentality is extremely unfortunate. It depresses me to think of how many people could've gone on to do pretty great things, if it weren't for the State and all of its advocates shutting them down.
