We always work hard, but we forgot to live

Life is becoming more and more tiring.

Workaholic, needless to say, 10 hours of work time every day, the enormous pressure of work makes people physically and mentally exhausted.

The funny thing is that a lot of people who work very little, often say that they are tired. They go to work every day to check their emails, make several statistical forms, and organize the minutes. The rest of the time is just chatting with colleagues, surf Facebook and waiting to get off work.

Many of them, too, feel tired.

They're not pretending. Look at our weekend.

The average person's weekends are like this:

  • Wake up naturally in the morning, about 10 o’clock in the morning.
  • Play the phone and have lunch.
  • Went out with friends after lunch.
  • In the evening, began to watch TV, play, surf all kinds of boring forums and posts.
  • Go to bed at 12, play phone in bed until late night.

After the weekend, many people are not relaxed but become more tired than they were at work.
The body does not get exercise, the mind is not relaxed, only endless emptiness and exhaustion.

Because a lot of people won't really rest.
Each of us, too, owes ourselves a real rest.

In the famous “The Willpower Instinct: How Self-control Works, Why it Matters, and What You Can do to Get More of It” book mentioned that willpower is like muscle, has its limits. Persistence by willpower is a myth.

Physical strength is like cell phone battery, no matter how energetic a person is, he/she will also be tired.

Keep charging and resting to continue to generate strength.

The simplest way to maintain physical strength is to exercise regularly and eat healthily.

A few days ago, I invited a few friends to my house.
At that time everyone just off work, are a little tired, so for the evening entertainment, we chose to watch movies at home.

When we were choosing a movie, only then realized that we had missed so many blockbuster films. So we chose “Ready Player One”.

More than 2 hours movie, it feels like half a century. The scene is real, the plot is compact, exquisite acting, an immersive CG, as if at present.
High-density viewing experience, it feels good.

At the same time, these 2 hours, feels like only 20 minutes.
Because we are completely immersed in the movie, and then 2 hours is over.

The flow of experience makes us feel relaxed all over the body.
At least in the 2 hours, we were watching the movie, we forgot about the work and the trivia of life.

This immersive rest can help us quickly regain our brainpower and get back into productive life.

Many of us are not living in the present, but living in the future.

Thinking about next week's project while you are eating; thinking about tomorrow's report before you go to bed, and when you taking a dump, your attention is on the phone.

Eating becomes a mechanical feeding, and sleeping becomes a way to recharge your body.

Excessive anxiety makes us always in a "multitasking" state. Always want to do 2 things at the same time, or even 3 things.
It seems that this is the only way to use the time to the extreme.

But the scientific experiment tells us that this process of simultaneous work is just an illusion.
It looks like a lot of tasks are done at the same time, but it's just a frequent switch to multiple tasks.

You sure can’t taste the food when you are thinking about work while eating.

How can you really rest if you fill every crevice of your life with work?

Starting today, please eat well, sleep well and live well.

We work like robots to make money, but for what?

Is it not for happiness?
However, many beautiful things in the world, in fact, are free.

Swinging in the park;
Tell a story to a child;
Lying on the rooftop looking at the stars ...

I hope that each of us can spend some time, be kind to our hearts, and live with heart.

After all, the best state of your life is when you are young. Other than working hard, don’t forget to live.

I say this all the time! It's important to get our stuff done but we also need time for living, everything is not just working and studying! Having extra activities can be the best solution for this in my opinion, like doing what you actually love. Yeah, I've heard that people "love" their work or career , but accept it, there's always something you wanted to do more, try it now, you are not going to lose more than some hours you wasted on your phone before :) Anyways, great post @walkinharmony , regards from Venezuela!
