Shot this while I was meandering around Boston a while back. I'm pretty sure they had just finished painting it. It's very seldom that I see a mantra that I try to live my life buy in 6 foot block letters, so naturally I had to capture it.
If you don't buy fresh or eat local yet, or if you do but don't as much as you want to remember it's a commitment to your community, not just to you. Plus farmer's markets are just plain awesome. Even restaurants are playing their part more and more these days and I'm thrilled to see it. As someone who's worked in several of these kinds of restaurants my advice to you the would be patron not just to go out and enjoy the fresh local goodness, but hang around till the kitchen shuts down and have a conversation about your experience with the fresh and local people who put their creative efforts, sweat and weekend nights into creating magic.
Besides, why would it ever make sense to ship a tomota half way around the world? It never will, but we do it everyday. Crazy. So do your part, buy fresh, buy local and go a step further and be a part of the community.
