Maids of Misfortune....How to hold on to your Domestic Helper!!

in life •  8 years ago

Finding a good Job seems easier than finding a good maid or a Domestic helper ,who will help you keep it together.

You want to be out there with your career but without help on the domestic forefront keeping things smug does seem really tough. Most Women swear that they have two loves of their lives, One is Hubby Honey and the other is the Darling Nanny. And Yes one would feel these swirls of gratefulness to that" Woman" because of whom you can work and even so have everything on the home front in perfect shape. Shes your partner, your copilot, your wing woman in helping you parent ..and but ofcourse the secret lies in her being happy and chirpy.

"Aunty S" has been a part of our home for nearly 6 years now , shes constantly concerned for all of us and mostly completes chores...but her constant over emotional outbursts has got me climbing up walls at times...And I'd like to just ask her to go right back to the lil town where shes come from...But on Hindside ..My home is in order, My son is fantastically taken care of and Me and my husband can concentrate on our lil family buisness without having to worry..And I'd be lying if i did not say...Shes more than family now.    So what really is.. 'THE HOLY GRAIL' to help keeping it together for you and that so much needed Help!I call it' Nanny Notes'..a few Helper Hitch Ideas that can help us keep longer stronger relationships with our "Nanny Loves". So here goes:

Nanny Note Number 1:

Make Expectations Clear From Day One If you want your nanny to help with dinner or do laundry or light cleaning -- and she'll have the time free during the day to do them -- let her know from the start. What you dont want to do is make new demands on her and then she starts getting cranky at work coz she cant finish her jobs.

 Nanny Note Number 2 :

Really care about her , Pamper her every now and then. You need to worry about her Mental and physical help.Shes part of your family and you need to make her feel that way.Her being healthy only means the health of your family.

  Nanny Note Number 3 :

Don't get in her way In most cases your Nanny has probably raised kids of her own. So you need to give her a considerable autonomy and ignore the little things especially if your kids are little.Remember you spend a lot of times outside the house , so you need to responsibly let her make a few choices for them as they are under her care.

 Nanny Note Number 4 :

Pick Your Battles Avoid speaking about the minor stuff that bugg you. Even if you tend to let all hell loose if you catch the husband misusing the microwave or drinking off the milk carton.Hold your Guns when it comes to her ,it really doesnt matter.

Nanny Note Number 5 :

Speak about the bigger issues. Addressing the bigger issues are really important. You can get back from home a lil early and speak to her privately on what is really affecting you.Leaving notes on anything that deserves a personal discussion may not be a good idea as your helper could probably read it in the tone not intended it to be.

Nanny Note Number 6:

Always be Motivational and Generous. Most moms give their nannies an end-of-year bonus , plus an annual pay raise. "I believe really strongly in not nickel-and-diming my helper. She always comes when I need her, and more importantly, she's happy and cheerful and works hard to make our lives better in every way.Make sure you verbally appreciate her presence in the family and pat her more than often for a job well done. All of which will only motivate her to do better.

What you focus on grows.Thank her for every positive action. Compliment her on her thoughtfulness. Lastly water her wholesome seeds of goodness and watch her blossom along with your family. Make an effort to always live in Peace.

So until next time..C you around folks.
