That is interesting, but if it were up to me, I would deregulate the whole rental industry in the case where two adults make a decision to rent a space, I am not sure why anyone else needs to be involved.

It's unfortunate that the additional government involvement was likely necessary not too long ago in our history. In my opinion, sometimes a movement based on a good or needed cause, takes an ugly turn and the very thing that is meant to improve a situation, becomes distorted and hinders the natural process. The social consequence of business decisions is inevitable. However, this legislation will fine landlords between $11,000 and $55,000 for any instance deemed as an unlawful rental practice.
