I've always enjoyed drawing. That's something i do when i want to take a break from my work or when i have something in mind. Sometimes i look at my pen and i just want to stop everything i am doing to draw anything, even if i don't have any idea.

Sometimes i see a character from a game or a cartoon, sometimes just another drawing and i want to draw it again, in my own style. Actually, having a style is not really easy. It changes with time and with your mood. Maybe today you've walked outside, it was a beautiful day, you went back home and drew a happy cartoon character. Maybe it is raining outside and you drew a silent and relaxed character. Or maybe you feel sad or bored and you draw something sad.

For me, it changed a lot. I really wanted to have my own style and keep it as long as i could. I wanted to make cartoons and i knew i couldn't change it with my mood. So i tried things, styles, ideas. And then came depression. I still wanted to draw but i had no ideas anymore, and all i did was unfinished sketches. At this time i liked drawing robots with detailed endoskeletons and my girlfriend told me that my personality seemed "broken", with "missing pieces". When she said that, i took a piece of paper and drew a broken character :

I knew i had a style and could do something with it, even when i was feeling better. From this point i decided to make it something with an idea. I tried to draw every side of my depression, put it on paper. It helped me a lot more than expected. This way i was able to explain what i was feeling and how i see it.

Things were better. I was getting out of depression and ready to draw more colorful things. Me and my girlfriend love pastel clothes and playing like kids. It's our way to laugh and have good times and we wanted to draw it together. We both took a piece of paper and drew each other with colorful colors

I draw a lot. Even for my work! As a game developer, i create characters, i draw them in any way possible and it helped me show my creativity, maybe less than on paper but still easier to manipulate. And that's the difference! On paper you have better control over your hand and your movements, you just draw what's just in your mind. But on a computer, things take more time and you have to use more tools. Well.. it gives more freedom, i have layers, colors, i can perfectly erase what i don't like, change big parts easily. But i still prefer drawing on paper.
