Dealing With An Accidental Durable, Or Discriminating Problem

When you are dealing with an inconvenience, such as a traffic jam, you may begin to think irrational thoughts. Thinking such things as, "Why waste my time in traffic?" will only make you feel worse. Instead, try to think of the inconveniences you are facing and how you will be inconvenienced if you do not get the road back to work early.

One of the most annoying things I deal with on a daily basis is when I am forced to use my clutch. This is due to the clutch going out when I am not paying attention to the proper setting. I will have to either shift my weight and drive with the clutch in my hand or use the emergency brake and shift into neutral. In order to avoid these types of clutch problems, always make sure your vehicle has a good manual transmission as well as an automatic transmission.

Another type of inconvenience is when my vehicle's automatic transmissions cannot access the fluid level to make sure that the car is working correctly. If the fluid level drops, the engine will not run properly and will potentially burn my battery. This can also happen with manual transmissions if they become dirty or clogged with mud and other debris. Therefore, it is imperative that these fluid levels are monitored by a professional and that the transmission is cleaned regularly to prevent any problems.

Along with dealing with transmission issues, I also deal with other inconveniences that come along with owning a car. For example, I have to use a certain type of cleaner for my clutch and brakes. This is because these transmissions use different fluids than an automatic. For example, some transmission fluids are quite hard and must be protected with a special fluid. When dealing with a clutch issue, make sure you have the right fluids to avoid damage to your car.

One thing that I have found to be an annoyance is a "limp" in the engine. This is similar to a "lump in the road." The exhaust note sounds like a "growl." I have never had a problem with these, but they are something to watch out for. Usually these limps happen on rural highways or in rural areas. If you drive on an expressway, you should check your transmission fluid level to avoid this problem.

Other "incident-causing" problems include brake failure, which can be extremely frustrating when you have been following your driving practices and are suddenly experiencing brake failure issues. Another type of inconvenience is the "dome" tailing in front of you. In my opinion, this is one of the biggest annoyances I deal with because it causes a lot of tailing in front of you and can be very dangerous when left standing for too long.

How can you make sure you avoid these inconvenience issues? First, if you know you aren't going to be using your car for a certain period of time, bring your car in for service right after your last use. Second, change your lanes when you see a vehicle coming up behind you. Drive slowly and carefully, don't rev your engine or make any sudden motions. Last, try to avoid using your cell phone, radio, or any electronic device while driving.

When dealing with an inconvenience factor, it can be hard to figure out how to solve the problem. Some people call in a mechanic; others get frustrated and annoyed with their car dealerships. I personally would rather address the problem by finding the best source for service and fixing the issue at its root (i.e., transmission fluid).
