Traveler's memories: Cycling in Tulum, thinking about a different kind of beautiful.

in life •  8 years ago  (edited)

One sunny day, I was cycling around Tulum, realizing that this world is one heck of a place to live in. I wouldn't change it for anything because I knew:

Life is pretty beautiful. It is tough, rough around the edges, unjust, but magnificent nonetheless.

No matter what we go through, it will always be like that. Yes - behind those cheeky smiles all of us are hiding the pain caused by failure, dreams that never came true… and nightmares that did. I buried my father when I was 13... but so many people never ever met their fathers. So what?

We still wake up in the morning and we still go back to sleep at night. It does not matter if we are happy or sad, rich or poor, talented or limited, we still have to do the same routine and live in the same reality… which is the only one and fairly beautiful, but sometimes outrageously unfair.

That is what I call a different kind of beautiful. It can make us cry and mock us for being where we are. It can even make us go insane. That is what reality does and only foolish people could disagree.

However, when you accept it, somehow it becomes a different kind of beautiful. Even the pain. Everything. Because it is a part of the life and part of us.

I personally choose to believe that we are living in a damn beautiful world and we are incredible as well. Do you know that we are flawless people full of flaws? You do now.

If you happen to ask yourself why so many bad things are happening in this so beautiful world, you will not find the answer. Probably it is just the way things work. It is what God or evolution or whatever wanted. These are the rules of the game called "Life". However, I will tell you one unwritten rule, which will make you thrive:

Just make sure to carry on past all the bad things and concentrate on greatness. You will be just fine this way because living surrounded by greatness cannot be anything less than magnificent. And greatness is everywhere.

I am cycling around Tulum, looking at the people and realizing how different is the way that each of them is living. However, most of them just want to take care of their families and spread the love.

Sometimes circumstances are against those wishes, but I truly believe that it can change. And while I am cycling around Tulum all happy and satisfied with my life, I understand that I can help a lot of people be happy as well. That is what I want to do because everyone is worth it. No exceptions.

I wish that all of us would be a little better to each other from today. Because just a little bit could change it all. Just one nice word can spread the seeds of greatness even at the most polluted areas. I say, LOVE, please say it too.
