The Value of Hope

What is hope?

Hope is when the sky comes tumbling down over your head and believing that the cracks will heal. It is knowing for a fact you'll see the world again with the eyes you've lost and walk again with legs that you sacrificed in a war. Hope denies logic, it shines like a star among the thickest of clouds, flickering into existence out of the blue to serve as a guiding light to those who dare the turbulent sea. Yet, in the moment of chaos,when logic tells you otherwise, hope is what keeps us going. It isn't ignoring fact, lying in the face of tragedy, but knowing that whatever awaits us beyond the horizon is of far greater value. It tells us that whatever the future holds is worth a fight. In a world where science and logic largely dominates , hope is perhaps the only anomaly that has saved countless lives. Keep hoping and remember that the worst of our days will someday be behind us.
