In early 1907, Sabir decided not to sell soap, to work in press and education, and to continue his poetry more regularly. She came to Baku and worked for a while in editorial office of Irshad newspaper and was preparing to take the exam for obtaining a privilege. Meanwhile, Gori receives a few proud letters from teachers who work at the Teachers' Seminar. In those letters he said that soon the teacher's place in the Azerbaijani section of the seminar will be vacated. Friends advise the poet to take the initiative and tell her that she will help her.
On April 11, 1908, the poet, who had examined the spiritual department of the Baku province, went to Tiflis and received a diploma from the Caucasian Sheikhulislam administration as a mother tongue and a Shariah teacher. But after receiving a letter from Qori she would have to cut off her hopes on the seminary. For some time, the poet teaches at one of the Shamakhi schools as an assistant teacher. Teacher colleagues like her deep knowledge and pedagogical skills.
In September of that year, Sabir was able to open a long-awaited "Umid" school. There were about 60 students in this school. As with other new schools, the students were sitting on the bench, using visual aids and going on the excursion. At the school, the mother tongue, Persian language, account, geography and nature were given information, the Quran and Sharia lessons were taught.
At the beginning of 1910 Sabir came to Baku. He works first in the editorial board of "Zanbur" magazine. Shortly afterwards he started teaching Balakhani school with great enthusiasm. Together with his teacher, the poet Balakhani is approaching the oil workers, working closely with the local revolutionaries and becoming an active member of the Nur library they open. From the summer of that year Sabir works in the editorial offices of "Gunes" and "Hagigat" newspapers in Baku. The "Gunesh" newspaper posted a laugh page every Friday in the title "Palanduz". Sabir publishes regularly on the page with "Nijder" and "Chuvalduz" signatures. The poet also continues to write "Molla Nasreddin".
The great poet who was in need of months, unemployed and suffering, was subjected to lung disease in the late 1910s and returned to Shamakhi. In May 1911, he went to Tbilisi for treatment and was staying at his friend Mammadguluzade's house. The employees of Molla Nasreddin are very kind to the poet. Despite his illness, Sabir continues to write poetry, working on new conventions, and closely helping editorial work of the Molla Nasreddin magazine.
In June, doctors are suggesting a poison surgery. But the patient does not agree with that. She is back in Shamakhi. In one of the days, the poet says:
I want to die, leyk runs away from me,
What a misfortune to see, I need to be careful!
"Molla Nasreddin" magazine publishes an announcement in the 14th issue of 1911 calling on the sick poet to provide financial assistance. Following this announcement, dozens of Russian and East cities send donations to Molla Nasreddin for their love and reverence for the great folk poet.
The poet, who suffered from his illness and said he would not be otherwise, came to Baku on July 8. However, doctors say that surgery will not benefit them, and they advise him to return to Shamakhi soon. Journalist H. Gasimov, recalling his latest meeting with a sick poet in Baku, writes: "... If you write in the newspaper, Sabir said that I refused my body in the way of my people. If it had been his lifetime, I would put my bones in the way of my people. "
On July 12, 1911, Sabir died at the most brilliant time of his life and creations. The poet's funeral is buried in Seven Dome Cemetery in Shamakhi.
A year after his death in honor of Sabir's memory, his poems were published under the name "Hophopnama" in 1912 with his wife Büllurnis, his friends Abbas Sahhat and M.Makhmudbeyov. The readers warmly welcomed the book. Two years later, the second, better edition of the Hophopname was released by the people. During the Soviet era, Sabir's legacy had increased dramatically, and Hophopnama was published several times in large circulation.
