Every February 05 the church commemorates SANTA ÁGUEDA, and this is its legend.
Águeda was born in Catania (Italy) in the year 235 AD of the Julian calendar.

Quiciano, blinded by lack of control and anger, ordered that his breasts be removed brutally, and then cut off, sending him back to a prison deprived of food and medical attention.

Finally, when the governor learned of what had happened, he determined that she be stripped naked and thrown into the burning embers, later she was confined in a dungeon where, after a fervent prayer, she died.
